Proace- is it reliable?

Hi guys, started looking for a van for myself and wanted toyota. Owning lexus for my main car for last 10 years I wouldn't go back to other make. Toyota & Lexus are known for reliability, but I just found something today. Proace is actually a peugeot van with toyota Badge on it. It has been few years proace is out and I believe people can give some feedback on it.  Couple years ago company bought 5 peugeot vans and driving one of them (proace type) didn't impress me at all.. At the time I thought it's just peugeot junk, why would you buy this crap 😄 On top of it, I think every single van went back to the garage first year of use with different problems. Even small details like door seals & door rollers seems to be such a low quality... Seals were hanging on one van- doors not closing properly. Doors in general are strange- you think you close them, you come on site & you hear alarm screaming.. Other van sliding door rollers went faulty in less than 2 years.

I was looking forward of getting toyota made van, but probably need to look for something else?

Not news at all. The Proace and Proace City are clones of the Stellantis vans (Peugeot/Citroen/Fiat) and built by Stellantis 

Ad blue tanks failing & the known timing chain failure issue on the DV5 engine is all that springs to mind with the latest ones.

My work have loads of Proace vans on the fleet, yes the early ones where problematic but the newer ones seem to be built a lot better & much more reliable.

Morning chaps. We own a 2019 Toyota Proace Verso Family - 2 litre 6 speed manual with 39,000 miles on the clock. I realise it's not the best use of a diesel but it covers a one-vehicle-family-of-6's needs for getting to school and the shops.

When forkingabout says 'early ones where [sic] problematic' which years does this cover? I hope ours might be a middling model and have had a few of the early problems removed.

I only ask as in the 3 years, 6 months we've owned our Proace it's been very reliable (perhaps there's my answer...). But twice we've had >> Engine Fault: repair needed + Service + flashing Adblue << come up and the mileage limited to 700 miles before it refuses to start. The first time (over 2 years ago from memory) the mechanics found no fault/leak with the system and reset the sensor. This time round was last Thursday (300 miles from home!) and we've got it booked into the local Toyota garage under warranty to get it sorted. The van's mostly used for short, day to day journeys (as above) with occasional long drives to the coast or further afield. I've sometimes wondered whether this upsets the emissions sensors or something?

I'm going to grill the mechanics this time round as to software updates/any tweaks they should be considering to ensure this isn't a fault that can be corrected, but I suppose that I'm posting on here for any sort of reassurance/clarification as to whether our fault is likely to be an irritant rather than a major problem?

I'd intended to post one of this fella's video's a few weeks ago but didn't because it wasn't Toyota specific, I still thought it an interesting subject for any car owner really but hadn't gotten around to it, now he's done one that is specific to the Toyota Proace so I thought I'd share it, it's an interesting topic because it poses the question as to whether certain vehicles are pre-programmed to throw up a fault, those vehicles are the  Stellantis vans (Peugeot/Citroen/Fiat) as mentioned by Frosty, in this instance though the fella reckons this Proace is reporting a fault that its impossible to have, it might be of interest to some.
