Camry Club Latest Topicshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/forum/8-camry-club/Camry Club Latest TopicsenOld Camryshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221871-old-camrys/ Is there much of a market for spare/repair Camrys in the UK?

My parents have a 2004 that only has 96k on the clock but have been told that the exhaust is on its last legs and under the body is starting to corrode.

They're going to get rid but the part ex offer they've been given probably doesn't cover the fuel left in the tank.

Should they just take the easy option or are there enough aficionados out there to make it worth their while selling it privately?

2020 Camry Software Update - Apple CarPlay in EUhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/193487-2020-camry-software-update-apple-carplay-in-eu/ Hello Everyone,

It is very annoying that I cannot use the CarPlay and the installed map is an old version, out of date which does not have the full addresses or streets/house numbers of the EU maps.

It has navdb_version: 2019 v2 on Multimedia Touch 2.

Apple just updated their website and mentioned, 2020 Camry now supports the CarPlay.

Source: https://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/available-models/

Did anyone get the update?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

A/C problemshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221482-ac-problems/ I have a 2014 Toyota Camry SE 4-cylinder non-hybrid model with 140,000 miles. The car is displaying a flow rate sensor circuit code and a rough idle code (which I don't think is related to the AC issue). The AC compressor never turns off; the clutch is always engaged and spinning.

The issue began with the car only blowing hot air. We vacuumed the AC system, recharged it, and initially, the car blew cold air. However, it soon started blowing cool air, then humid and tepid air (not hot). The problem persisted even after restarting the car. While driving, the AC would occasionally blow cold air for about 10 minutes before returning to cool/tepid air.

The next day, we connected a scanner to check the AC system codes and found a flow sensor code. The live data showed the sensor readings fluctuating, but not drastically. We replaced the flow sensor, but the new sensor was stuck at 4.38 volts. Thinking it was defective, we exchanged it for another one, which read 4.36 volts and still didn't fluctuate.

Currently, after driving for about 10-15 minutes, the AC blows cold air for about 10 minutes, then goes back to cool/tepid for another 10-15 minutes, and the cycle repeats. Turning off the car and revving the engine slightly seems to help it cool down a bit.

Additionally, on the scanner, we noticed that the sensor in front of the condenser read 100°F, while the outside temperature was around 93°F. The scanner also showed that the clutch cutoff was set to "off."

We need advice on how to proceed, especially living in a hot climate like Houston.

Fuel efficiencyhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221401-fuel-efficiency/ Hello,

I have a leased new Toyota Camry 2024 SE about month ago. With full tank I am driving only 300miles which seems far less than it should be. This is for 80% city and 20% highway driving. And I am not an aggressive type of driver.

any advice or explnation?

Thanks,

Vardan

2006 Camry Weird Engine Noise - No lights or codeshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221227-2006-camry-weird-engine-noise-no-lights-or-codes/ Good day to all,

I am posting this because I am completely stumped and I have no idea where to look next. I have a 2006 Camry that I use to drive into the city everyday for work. It is about 30 miles in and 30 miles out of the city. I am hearing a very loud engine noise, from riding inside it sounds like a Fan boat is turning on and running inside the car. When it first started happening it was more constant and at low and high speeds. Being a 2006, I thought of the front bearings. I replaced those and the tie-rod ends. The issue seemed to go away for about two days. Now, when I am driving, am low speeds or just around town there is no noise. Once I am driving for a bit the noise comes in pretty loud. I was thinking the exhaust, but I crawled under the car and found no holes in the pipe all the way from the header back to after the muffler. I can understand engine noise getting louder as a car ages, but this is the Four Cylinder it should not sound like this.

There is one engine code every once in a while it is the p0500 code for speed sensor, but this is not constant at all, it will come on maybe once a week. (I am just thinking a bad sensor somewhere.) However, the engine noise is constant at high speeds. The only other thing it is doing, it sound like it is choking itself out at stops. I come to a stop, and the RPMs dip but never stall out.

I have thought of everything I can think of, I am tried injector cleaner, for a stuck valve. I looked inside at the throttle body, it is a little dirty but I cleaned it when I bought the car about five months ago. And without any lights, warnings or  any other noises, I can't pin point the issue.

So, if anyone has this issue or know where to look next, I am open for thoughts. Please let me know. Thanks

Camry 2005 vibrationshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221024-camry-2005-vibrations/ Hi. I bought a Camry 2005 it was running smooth but right now has a problem that I cannot find.

it runs well but after 50 mph it starts to vibrate if I stop accelerating the vibration intensities.

i already made a wheel balance and it was smooth for a while but the vibration returned

sometimes the ride is smooth and I don’t have vibration, some days it starts right away, other times it starts vibrating I stop aside turn off the engine wait for 1-2 minutes start again and I don’t have any vibration. I feel the vibration on the steering wheel and sometimes in low speed at the gas pedal.

I have a check engine regarding the evap system (p0441, p0446, p0455)

I don’t know if this vibration is due a problem on the engine or something wrong with the wheels.

thank you

Coolant Splashed under the hoodhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/220871-coolant-splashed-under-the-hood/ Hi All,

Sorry, I am not car-savvy, hopefully someone has more insight...

I had my radiator replaced on my 2003 Camry XLE (SKU: CSF 3143 Radiator). After 40min of driving though my car did not overheat, when I checked under the hood, coolant had exploded/splashed out.  The reservoir tank did not deplete. From what I read, the radiator cap might need replacing, but it feels pretty secure and I felt pressure taking it off....not easy to take off to mention.  Do I need to get a specific model ? Could there be something else?

Secondly... the heat is only working on the driver's side, which I am guessing could be a clogged heater core?

Thanks!

2006 Solara hood trim replacehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/220735-2006-solara-hood-trim-replace/ Anyone have experience replacing the chrome hood trim on their Solara?

I've got all the parts just curious if you mount the screws and nuts on hood first and slide the piece onto rectangular screw heads after or install screws on trim first and just tighten nuts?

The plastic retaining clips built into the trim look very fragile and look they break easily.

Any of you own a 1997 to 2001 V6? What's it like to own?https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/220049-any-of-you-own-a-1997-to-2001-v6-whats-it-like-to-own/ There's something nice about how simple they are. It's commonly mentioned that while they are incredibly reliable, some suffer head gaskit leaks. How easy is it to fix this? Is it costly?

A couple of gems come up on AutoTrader and CarsAndClassic from time to time, but each time something prevents me from pulling the trigger. One example on CarsAndClassic was on the site for about a year. 1998, V6, 87K miles, immaculate. I was going to buy it once then unfortunately had to pay for a funeral. Then next time I had to prioritise some works to my home. This time I got my bonus and it was sold a few days later 🥲. I never messaged the seller after the first time, didn't want to mess them around. But it's sad how rare these models are.

Has anyone ever seen a 6 cylinder automatic with cloth seats instead of leather?

My back windshield tint has bubbled up to the point that I can’t see clearly out of my back window. Inquired to a professional tint shops and was told by both that I would lose my back defrost system when they stripped the old tint off. Will my local Toyota dealership be responsible for this (Sparks Toyota Myrtle Beach)

2013 Toyota Camry 2.5L or 2.0Lhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/219433-2013-toyota-camry-25l-or-20l/ Hello,

I am looking to buy a Toyota Camry. There are two 2013 Toyota Camrys I am looking at.

One is the 2.0L VVTI Petrol Automatic 4 Speed Transmission and the other is the 2.5 Dual VVTI Petrol Automatic Six Speed (I think) Transmission. Both are same spec Camrys.

Driving in the UK with quite expensive Petrol prices I obviously want to have the best MPG. My question is will there be a big noticeable difference in real MPG?

I drive mostly Motorways driving.

Also are there others advantages and disadvantages between the two.

I will be buying one, I just want to make the correct choice.

Thank you,

Matt.

2020 Camry excess road noisehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/204394-2020-camry-excess-road-noise/ I bought a 2020 used Camry Design in June 2021.

Everything was great until the August when the road noise became louder, sounded like wheel bearings were starting to go.

The dealer couldn't find anything wrong. We changed  all the tyres to ones with a very good noise rating.

There was a slight improvement. Road noise was still unpleasant at 70 mph. We measured the levels with a sound meter and got readings of 75dB at 70 mph.

The courtesy car the dealer supplied (Yaris) was quieter at 70dB, the dealer's mechanic also found it noisier than his own Corolla.

Nobody seems to know what to do. The only thing I could think was that I'd driven thru a deep puddle in early August - had I pulled something off the underside?

The noise seems to get worse when driving into a head wind - could it be an aerodynamic problem?

I've found a Toyota document describing improvements to noise reduction for the 2022 model  - there is mention of an "apron silencer".

Any help and advance welcomed.

If this can't be fixed then the car will have to be sold - it's unpleasant to drive at motorway speeds.

Help!

2014 Camry Door locks not working anymorehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/218784-2014-camry-door-locks-not-working-anymore/ I have a 2014 Camry SE. About 3 years ago the motor for the passenger front door went bad so I spent almost $300 for a new motor and assembly from the dealer.

They would not sell the motor by itself. Now the front drivers door, rear passenger door and the front passenger door (AGAIN) motors have gone bad. Only the rear drivers side lock works now.

Either with the key fob or switch on the drivers door.

So I have to unlock or lock all other doors by hand. Any advise besides DO NOT buy another Camry.

Thanks

Difference between these two parts?https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/218572-difference-between-these-two-parts/ Car is a 2002 Camry MCV30R (1MZ-FE / XLE).

I'm trying to find out what the physical difference is between these two parts. All I can find out, and all my local dealer can tell me, is that one is for North American built cars, whereas the other is for Japanese built cars.

53801-AA020 (also listed as -33120 and -33110) - dealer tells me this is the NA LHD car OSF / passenger front wing.

53801-33100 (also listed as -33140) - dealer tells me this is the Japanese RHD car OSF / driver front wing.

Does anyone know if there is a physical difference between them, or if the different part numbers are simply used to differentiate between Japanese and North American cars and supply chains?

Thanks!

Should Camry 'nanoe' air conditioning systems be serviced?https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/218512-should-camry-nanoe-air-conditioning-systems-be-serviced/ At my last annual service, I was told by the Toyota main dealer that my air con system was dirty and did I want it steam cleaned for £250 !. Firstly I was shocked by the outrageous quote so said no thanks.

However, I had forgotten that my Camry has some high spec 'nanoe' air con system. So I'm now thinking should this self cleaning system even be serviced. Anybody had a similar experience?
