Just signed up to confirm this is working for me, and some pictures to help out anyone else trying this in 2024. For whatever reason I couldn't see the pictures in the guide so have reuploaded them.

I have a 2007 Auris TR D-4D 2.0 diesel and luckily, my connections were exactly the same as pictured.

Here is a link to the full kit that I bought, I am not am not affiliated with this seller at all, just posting it for convenience.

All due credit to Speed_Chaser and his original post. I am going to repost his original guide with the pictures intact in case anyone else is having issues.

Here is how to install Cruise Control to your Auris...

Found this instruction on Toyota Owner's Club Russia

-forum, special thanks to Andron, who took the pictures

and wrote the russian text!

I made some improvements and posted it here, enjoy...

You're gonna need two parts:

Cable

and switch

stalk.thumb.jpg.f5f9c00251dbd2a9e259c0a4000fe825.jpg

(You can see the part numbers on the pictures)

Next you have to connect the wire to the switch

connect.thumb.jpg.3a267137ce86046bf8e9d1365d8d445d.jpg

After that, remove the cover caps from both sides of the wheel

After removing you will see the following:

Torx.thumb.jpg.3c83931bce85b58fcf793e4de604c29c.jpg

(there is a possibility that the caps don't exist, if so, you'll see one screw on both sides of the wheel,

and should just continue to the next step)

Remove the screws (TORX 30).

Pull the airbag covers' upper side towards yourself. DO NOT disconnect the airbag's wire!

Put the switch to it's place from the inside of the right hole (or make the hole in case

you didn't do the "remove the covers from both sides of the wheel" -step because of

not having any covers.

wheelinside1.thumb.jpg.9a1fb5c76330055b11d726b945e0232a.jpg

After that just tighten the switch with two M5x10mm, not M6

screws

Under the airbag cover you'll see the connection places, the one on the right is free

connextion.thumb.jpg.37222a3f467244eca557798ad0e87ea1.jpg

Connect the wire to it

connectionwire.thumb.jpg.7d4744d1d882f862ea0a14db40da37af.jpg

Insert the wire as it is shown on the picture below

wireclip.thumb.jpg.df467273a838cf8800ea06643809a553.jpg

After it's done just put everything back as it was...

Turn on the ignition and push the "ON/OFF" button

stalkbutton.thumb.jpg.b15955c1f17e93743c244e5a6721537e.jpg

Everything is ready and working just fine!

Now all you need is a test drive... But please read how to use the Cruise Control

from your Toyota owner's guide!

You cannot install Cruise Control if your car has 4ZZ-FE -engine!!

It took me 5 minutes to install, took it for a test drive and worked perfectly thank you.

Cheers

I have been reluctantly considering selling my 2010 Auris 1.6 SR which I've owned for 6 years, just because I now would prefer a car with cruise control for longer trips. I have read through the posts, but most of the successes seem to be for the older cars with the digital dashboard.

Can some kind soul please confirm if this mod would work for my car. I don't have an outline for CC stalk on the steering wheel, and have never seen a 'CRUISE' symbol or icon on the analog dashboard.

2010 Auris 1.6 SR, ZRE151R-DHFNPW, 1ZRFAE

Thank you 🙂

Thanks @tavy that's great to know. Will look into purchasing all the bits when I get a chance, and go through the brilliant guides in this thread.

All these Auris MK1 engines are compatible with CC : 1AD-FTV, 1ZR-FE, 2ZR-FE, and 2AD-FHV. Only these, unfortunately...

You're welcome, first remove the airbag in order to see if you have CC connector, if don't have buy a new spiral cable with CC connector and buy a CC stalk as well.

Backside of your existing spiral cable you have a connector than has this CC blue wire, for sure.

So I got a 2009 Avensis ZRT270L-AEFEPW 1.6 and I'd really appreciate it if someone could confirm, if the ECU supports cruise control. I read that the ZR1 engines should have CC but mine is 1ZR-FAE, if I am not wrong.
