I've had the car 9 months with no issues but yesterday the drivers mirror stayed in when I unlocked the car, however on starting the engine it unfolded. At the same time I noticed I can't lock the drivers door by touching the handle sensor lines anymore.

Passenger side mirror and door handle working fine. I can unlock with the drivers door when I put my hand around the handle, it's the touch sensor to lock that doesn't work, it also locks with the fob and the buttons inside the door.

Any ideas before I book it in.

I'm keen to hear back from anyone who is getting a very short duration misfire/judder under hard acceleration (3k to 5.5k revs) in gears 1 to 4. Its totally random and can go days between it happening.
Its a 71 plate circuit pack, daily drive with 19k miles, no mods and not tracked yet. It's been into the local dealership three times over the past four months and they have so far been unable to identify the issue. Its occurred when they have driven it, but it happens too quick to throw up a fault code in the workshop and apparently the Toyota central technical team need a fault code to authorize a warranty fix.
They initially questioned the fuel quality but this got ruled out after I went through a full tank of Shell super and still had the issue. They then changed out the plugs and again this didn't fix it. I have pointed to the coil packs as a potential cause after reading some of the posts here, they are yet to confirm if they will replace them.
The car is always warm when it occurs with traction control, etc on. I recently did 2k miles doing the NC500 and Kielder reservoir and the misfire came in only three times, always under acceleration.
If anyone has the same issue and any suggestions on the fault finding and how to get a warranty claim through Toyota without a fault code I'm all ears.
The dealership are trying to help, but its now doling my nut in!

My dealer told me it needs a health check every 6 months but I've been told by other owners that's the GR not the GRMN. So I'm rather confused! I got no books with the car (sore subject) so have no service schedule. I've also heard that dealers are not great with the grmn and don't do the correct servicing etc.

Any help would be great.

I have now got a copy, which I've read. I was told to use premium unleaded petrol by the dealer and obviously it says the same inside the petrol cap.

In the manual it says use 97 octane or above but not to use any fuel with ethanol in it, marked as E5 or E10.

As far as I can see all premium unleaded around me is marked up as E5 and has at least a little ethanol in it.

Which fuels do other owners use?

I like everything to be right so was mildly irritated that they hadn't got the "pack" with it. I believe it's been lost between dealerships (it was bought to my local Toyota dealer from another dealer)

I contacted previous dealer who say they haven't got it, so my dealership said they'd replace it, however they've given me an owners manual for the standard yaris and although most of the controls etc are the same there are no references in it to my car, no reference to the 1.8 engine, 17 inch wheels, premium unleaded fuel etc.

My question, is this correct? Or did the Grmn have its own manual? 

]]>213251Fri, 07 Apr 2023 13:20:40 +0000GR four Yaris clutchhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/212866-gr-four-yaris-clutch/ Has anyone had unusual high footpedal engagements to cause clutch smelling when travelling in congested traffic or reversing up hill, it was really bad when new, has settled down a little (3000miles) but still not great, gears engage about 3” off floor but not fully until about 1.5” from top so causes a bounce effect as though it bites twice, 1st to pull of, then 2nd to really engage to pull off fast, it’s not easy to explain, Toyota are having a look into it next week so maybe it will get resolved.

This did not happen on the test drive GR four yaris!

I have tried to search around and only got some info from the UK market, which is kind of specific due to right hand drive and hi demand.

Hope i don't need to go for a used one...

Service intervals for the GR Yaris are every 6,000 miles or 12 months, whichever occurs first. First service is an Interim service, second a Full service, and so on.

A safety check on brake and clutch fluid is recommended every six months, but this can be done at the same time as an Interim or Full service, depending on mileage.
