Route guidance system Yaris 2024

Has anybody noticed that the navigation system has a habit of leading you on weird routes?  For example, whilst driving along the motorway the system wanted me to exit the motorway onto the off ramp, drive to the roundabout and immediately drive back onto the same motorway in the same direction I had just come off.  It's done this at various locations.

TomTom used to do that to me on the M6 near Birmingham. Eventually learnt to ignore it but it was a bit weird.

Was there traffic and you had “auto reroute” enabled?

I have had the same thing in the past but I assumed it had been corrected in the updates.  Last week I had a holiday in the Cotswolds and covered 500 miles (499.6 to be precise, approx 300 were motorway miles. The dash showed 67 mpg, but fill to fill worked out at 64.1) and used the satnav for most of those miles without a problem.  

Nope, not busy at all, and it's happened several times at different locations (Scotland)!!

not really used the internal SAT NAV that much as I use android for most journeys. But when I have used I have not had it do that sort of thing. I would suggest you check for map / platform updates just to make sure your system is up to date.
