Retrofit Cruise Control - Yarishttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/193232-retrofit-cruise-control-yaris/ Hi All,

New to the forum, so please go easy on me! I am trying to find out if it is possible to retrofit Cruise Control to my version of the Yaris. From the VIN number I have come to the conclusion that the specific model number is NSP130R-CHFGKW.

I have heard various ideas as to whether it is possible or not, including US vs EU spec Yaris', Petrol vs Diesel, 1.0 vs 1.3. Basically, I would hope to find someone who could tell me if Retrofitting Cruise is possible on THIS Yaris spec, and if so, which stalk to buy (on eBay etc). I have retrofitted previously on VW motors so skill isn't a problem here, just technical information.

The steering wheel is the multi function version with media and phone control. There is a small bit of trim on the right hand side which pops off and reveals (what to me looks like) the mounting for a Cruise Control Stalk. I know there are other forum posts out there regarding Cruise Control however non of them seem to answer my question.

The car in question is:

Yaris 2012

NSP130R-CHFGKW

EU spec built in France

Engine: (1NRFE) 1300CC 16-VALVE DOHC EFI

6 speed manual gearbox

Right hand drive

Thanks for your help!!!

P1346 error codehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221616-p1346-error-code/ Hi all. I have a 2004 Mk1 1.3 petrol Yaris (2SZ-FE). Error code P1346 has been logged: VVT sensor/camshaft position sensor circuit range/performance problem (bank 1). The engine appears to run fine - it pulls well and is smooth when driven or at idle with no rattling from the timing chain.

I took a chance and replaced the camshaft sensor but that didn’t resolve the problem.

I took the oil control valve out and cleaned it as well as its screen filter. Both were clean. I cleared the stored error code but it eventually came back.

I’ve checked the resistance of the oil control valve - it measured 0.5 ohms and very slowly went up as I held the multimeter probes in place. Is this normal? Or should the resistance measure 6.9 - 7.9 ohms straight away?

I tested the oil control valve by connecting it to a 9v Battery. The solenoid worked fine when I cycled the power from the Battery on and off.

With the ignition turned to accessory power, the electrical connector for the oil control valve measured 1.5v. Should the voltage be higher when the ignition is turned to accessory power?

I also disconnected the oil control valve from the engine but left it connected to the harness. I turned the ignition to accessory power but the oil control valve solenoid didn’t respond.

The oil control valve appears to be faulty. Is there a chance that its electrical connector is as well?

Any ideas are welcome. Thanks.

CVT filler plug location 1.33 MK3 Yarishttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221833-cvt-filler-plug-location-133-mk3-yaris/ Hi everyone,

New member here, and after a bit of help. Does anyone know where the filler plug is? (or any other way I can top of the gearbox oil)

I did something a bit silly earlier - I wanted to change the engine oil, but undid the wrong plug (d'oh!). Luckily the car was warm and only about a litre of gearbox fluid came out, but I don't really want to drive it until I've put it back in there..

Any help greatly appreciated

At last... The new car is home!https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/220275-at-last-the-new-car-is-home/ PXL_20240402_131027846.RAW-01.COVER-Copy.thumb.jpg.c9ea2c028d9bb355cee518a88d86a07e.jpg

First impressions: Nippier than the Red Baron, most definitely. Suspension seems much more taught but that could be because it's new and there was only 4 miles on the clock so hasn't had chance to soften yet. I don't know if it's just me being subjective but I swear that the turning circle is tighter?! My beloved HUD is there and after what seemed to be disaster (Hybrid Assistant shut down with "unknown" in the space for the car model!) and much hasty transfer of debugging logs, the team at Hybrid Assistant quickly "fixed me" and that is up and running great! Happy days! :yahoo:

Obviously, I've only driven it 20 miles back to home so check back here in a week or so and I'll try and do a much more objective revue directly comparing it with our dear departed Launch Edition (the Red Baron). So far, so many more dashboards to tinker with!! 🤣

I know it is not usual to show the reg number of a car but I just couldn't resist this as we managed to get a "kind of" status plate by accident when I saw it on the list and it fits me to a "T"!! 😇

(PS. ...and the "new24" is pretty appropriate too!!)

Setting sat nav destinationhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221829-setting-sat-nav-destination/ We are about to go on holiday to Scotland on Friday, trying to set the destination on the sat nav is proving challenging, my preferred route from York is to go A1m, A66, M6, however the sat nav wants to take me straight up the A1, it makes no difference whether I press fastest, eco, ect, as you know, you have to be quick to decide which one to press, I know I could add a via point, but that might try and take us from the A1 over towards the west, are there any workarounds?

Weird electrical faulthttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221801-weird-electrical-fault/ Hello everyone, this is my first post.

my daughter pranged her 2005 Yaris 3  door 1.0 litre a few months ago. It is only light cosmetic damage. I have started to repair it, and the first thing was to charge the Battery. Everything was working fine when she drove it home after the incident, but now the led instrument panel lights up and then stays on all the time along with the charge and oil lights, even when you take the key out. Nothing else electrical works.

i connected a code reader to the OBDII socket and instantly all the electrics came to life. Pull out the code reader and everything goes dead apart from the instrument panel.
Have any of you ever experienced anything similar or have any idea what the problem may be?

Thank you.

Yaris Cross Wireless Charging Padhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/205192-yaris-cross-wireless-charging-pad/ I understand that in the U.K. we get wireless phone connection but not wireless charging (which seems a bit nonsensical). Has anyone tried any of the third party charging pads? I’m hoping there is one which will fit in the bottom tray and connect into the accessory socket without interfering with any of the electronics.

Yaris speedo cluster digital or analog?https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221809-yaris-speedo-cluster-digital-or-analog/ Today I have sold my IQ, because it did not have a roof bar or tow-bar for my cycle. I am looking for Yaris mk2, it will be diesel 1.4. I have noticed some have digital and some have orange analogue on the diesel.

Should I be worried about the digital if anything goes wrong?

They sent me the attached.

Marks on Rear Black Trim on Boothttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/208616-marks-on-rear-black-trim-on-boot/ I just went to wipe off some dirt of my car and noticed the black rear trim had water marks on it.  However they won’t come off I tired water and a bit of soap and they are still there.  Any ideas on what will get it off? Not too happy as I have only had the car a few weeks and not fully washed it yet so it’s either rain or the washer fluid that has caused it.

Android Auto Google Maps Navigation Volumehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221784-android-auto-google-maps-navigation-volume/ Can anyone help?

I can't turn the volume up on Google maps

When I try to use the volume knob on the cars head unit when the prompt speaks the direction it either does nothing or does it turn the Spotify music up, can't remember now I've tried so many things?

Same issue trying it on the volume controls on the steering wheel on the left hand side, the music will mute while the navigation prompt starts speaking but as soon as I press the + volume up on the steering wheel it turns Spotify back on and the volume up on that

How can I get the maps to turn the volume up? I've tried using the volume on my phone....adjusted the settings on the map app for louder

I've seen a thread where someone said when the voice prompt...hey Google starts try and do it that way from there?

Use the option on steering wheel to get the assistant to listen and then use the steering wheel volume buttons...I've yet to try this option ...just found it today but partner is out in the car

Yaris Cross spare wheelhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/212146-yaris-cross-spare-wheel/ Hello fellow Yaris Cross owners - since owning my 2022 Yaris Cross Excel, I have been researching why I have a tyre repair kit and not a spare wheel as standard? My extensive research to now has revealed that the UK version of the Yaris Cross has a repair kit included simply to keep the vehicle weight within a defined taxation class, a space saver wheel is supplied as standard in non-European models. The good news is that there is a space saver spare wheel complete kit available in the UK. It comprises of space saver wheel and tyre, jack and necessary tools, support former to fit onto the wheel in the boot and the wheel/tyre clamp for the boot. I have ordered, received and installed the kit, absolutely perfect. It is available from toyotadirectparts.co.uk at a total cost of £230.99, including VAT and shipping. Toyota Direct Parts are absolutely fabulous to deal with - they are a main Toyota dealer located in Swindon (Fish Brothers) and they come highly recommended for efficiency and service.

I really hope the above information saves some of you many hours of research - I now feel so much more secure in the knowledge that I have a spare wheel on board in the event of an unfortunate puncture. I DETEST tyre repair kits, a very poor option and, in my opinion, an unsatisfactory option.

what do people do to prevent the headlight covers from gradually “yellowing” ? Is there anything I can apply?

My previous car’s (2012 GT86) headlight covers started looking yellowish after 8 years or so.

Connection issue with infotainmenthttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221817-connection-issue-with-infotainment/ Hello, my partner has a 2023 Yaris Cross with the TAS600 infotainment system. We have noticed that it regularly looses connection with our phones when both wireless and wired. This never occurs in my own 2024 C-HR.  The car has been brought back to our Toyota dealer, but they can't find anything wrong with the infotainment system.

Has anyone else had similar issues or any advice to rectify the issue?  Thanks for any help.

Route guidance system Yaris 2024https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221813-route-guidance-system-yaris-2024/ Has anybody noticed that the navigation system has a habit of leading you on weird routes?  For example, whilst driving along the motorway the system wanted me to exit the motorway onto the off ramp, drive to the roundabout and immediately drive back onto the same motorway in the same direction I had just come off.  It's done this at various locations.

2021 Yaris emergency braking issuehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/206837-2021-yaris-emergency-braking-issue/ My wife's Yaris had the radar recall in April.

Since then she's had two issues where it has triggered incorrectly.

Today it brought her to an emergency stop because of a bicycle in a side street.

Is anyone else seeing any issues?  I'll have to take the car back to the dealer if it keeps happening, cos it's dangerous.

Multimedia Bluetooth issuehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/192342-multimedia-bluetooth-issue/ Hello! So I have encountered a problem I have never had before. I have had my car (second hand Toyota Yaris 2012) since about May last year?. Everything bluetooth wise has been working fine. Until today!

Now my phone is still connected to my car and I can still use it for phone calls. However when I click Media and then try to change it to bluetooth to play Spotify, it’s not bringing up the BT page. Any ideas? I did take it to the dealership and they suggested a diagnostic check which costs £89 without the fixing of the problem included which they think could be a software update.

I have tried resetting it, and I managed to find a way of doing a diagnostic check by holding Setup and turning the lights on and off three times, which brought up the menu but wouldn’t do anything when pressing or press and holding the INT button.

The only different I have noticed is with the profiles, on my phone profiles OPP isn’t highlighted, where as in detailed bluetooth settings OPP is selected.

Any advice greatly welcomed ^_^ worst case I will have to buy an Aux cable

(Tried to upload pictures but it won’t allow them)
