Seen one or maybe 2 Premier orange addition but they might be the same car.

Having a few issues with mine, the rear lights were filled with condensation which had to be replaced, and now I'm having a Squeeking issue with the breaks which has yet to be resolved. Mine and another GR demo car are having the exact same issue so it might be a production problem. Toyota are investigating.

Anyone else with a similar problem?

2023 CHR Exposed wiring rear bumperhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221844-2023-chr-exposed-wiring-rear-bumper/ Hi,

My wife’s 2023 CHR has a new scuff on the centre of the rear bumper. I checked for damage and noticed that the wiring loom an connectors are exposed between the rear bumper and the fuel tank and heat shield.
Should it be like that or is there a panel missing? See image

Thanks for any help

New Mk2 C-HR Ownershttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221718-new-mk2-c-hr-owners/ I am in the market to buy a C-HR

I was thinking about the Mk1 but my local dealer has an ex-demonstrator of the new shape Mk2 available which I’m interested in

Having already driven both I think I prefer the newer version as I found it a little bit quieter than the Mk1

Trouble is that I haven’t seen any Mk2’s on the road yet so I’m guessing they are not very popular and wondered why that is

Are there any new C-HR owners on here and if so what do you think of it? Any problems etc?

Mk1 LED/Adaptive Headlights?https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221821-mk1-ledadaptive-headlights/ I’m just wondering if any of the Mk1 C-HR’s had LED headlights and/or adaptive? (I think adaptive is the right term for when the headlights correct the light depending on conditions/oncoming traffic etc)

Thanks for any advice

Throttle body position sensorhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221748-throttle-body-position-sensor/ Hi all, I have a Toyota chr 2 weeks ago car went into limp mode randomly, whilst driving engine management sign came up along with a message on dash saying (anti crash malfunction turned off) called the AA and fault code P0121 which comes up as the throttle body position sensor I have changed both throttle body and position sensor but the problem still persists when I clear the fault codes it runs perfectly normal then kicks in again pretty much straight away and goes back into limp mode where it only runs on the Battery and not petrol. Has this happened to anyone before or even any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

C-HR v Corolla Sporthttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221730-c-hr-v-corolla-sport/ I have been considering the possibility of changing my 2021 C-HR 1.8 hybrid for a Corolla Sport 1.8 hybrid next year. Not likely to go new if I can get a good low mileage used one - possibly 2022 or 2023 plate.

What does bother me is that I am getting silly insurance renewal prices - no change of circumstances to cause this, except one year older. The C-HR is called a SUV, although in reality it is no such thing - just the body style. The Corolla Sport is basically an estate car - does the “Sport” connotation have any bearing on insurance rating?

With insurers bringing in daft reasons for raising premiums, I think the manufacturers should be more careful how they name their models. I’m not interested in the “Sport” tag - I simply need more room because I have to carry a walker for my wife, and the possibility of this having to be changed to a folding electric buggy is on the cards.

I don’t yet know if the insurance premium for a Corolla would be greater than for my C-HR - but recent increases indicate that greedy insurers are quite happy to push me towards unsustainable costs and destroy our mobility, even though my driving record has done nothing to warrant this.

<![CDATA[2024 CH-R Key not recognised & Check back seats]]>https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221652-2024-ch-r-key-not-recognised-check-back-seats/ Hi,

I’ve got a couple of issues with my new CH-R.

My keys keep going into ‘Key not recognised mode’ to the point I can’t lock the doors etc. I’ve had both batteries replaced last weekend and it has done it again this evening. Anyone else with the same issue?

also, how to you remove the ‘check rear seats’ alert. I mute it each time but surely there is a way of turning it off as it’s so annoying to have the car beeping at you when you’ve already walked away (if I forget to mute!) ?

any advise would be appreciated! Otherwise it’s back to the dealership for second week in a row :(

Space saver spare wheel for new shape 2024 on modelhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221691-space-saver-spare-wheel-for-new-shape-2024-on-model/ Hi, can anyone obtain the part numbers for a space saver spare wheel and foam supports, hold down bolt etc for the new shape 1.8 C-HR? The owners manual shows it installed (page 532), and lists the wheel size as 155/80 D17 (page 565).

I know there's a thread about the earlier model (where @Devon Aygo kindly listed the parts) but perhaps it makes sense to have a separate thread for the newer model.

Thanks 🙂

Help for Unusual Noises in 2020 Toyota CHR 1.8 Hybridhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/217693-help-for-unusual-noises-in-2020-toyota-chr-18-hybrid/ Hello CHR community,

I hope this message finds you all in good spirits. I'm reaching out today because I've encountered some peculiar noises in my 2020 Toyota CHR 1.8 Hybrid, which has 81,000 miles. I'm eager to get your insights before heading to the dealership for a diagnosis.

Issue 1: Noise from Right-Hand Side Dashboard Speaker Grill A rather perplexing noise has started to emerge from the right-hand side dashboard speaker grill. I've attached a video to this post to give you a better understanding of the issue.

Video - Issue 1: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EqWoYMmUOjN9qyJkUd1udoRoqAvonGDJ/view?usp=sharing

Issue 2: Buzzing/Frequency Noise from Left Side Passenger Area In addition to the speaker grill noise, I've noticed a buzzing or frequency noise coming from the left side of the passenger area. Again, the video should provide some context, but if anyone has encountered and resolved a comparable problem, I would love to hear about your experience.

Videos - Issue 2https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SmEBb7vQKjq39Au7t8izsOqB_h0lLnmP/view?usp=sharing

I'm planning to schedule a visit to the dealership soon, but I wanted to tap into the collective knowledge of this community first. Your insights could prove invaluable and might help me streamline the service process.

Thank you all in advance for your time and expertise.

Space saver tyre fitting. Excel CHR 2021 1.8https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221120-space-saver-tyre-fitting-excel-chr-2021-18/ Surprised to learn that no space saver was fitted so I fitted Kwikfit Road Hero Kit £279. It comes with carry bag for the accessories jack etc and a 18" tyre. I removed the moulded plastic base which had spaces for all accessories but only contained tow bolt, pressure charger and charge.About 15 to 20% boot space was lost but there was space gained below for space saver tyre and all accessories jack etc and my spares such as Battery charger, jump start unit, tyre compressor, torque wrench etc with the safe saver tyre. For those prepared to lose a little boot space to have a spacesaver spare tyre it works with the Kwikfit Road hero kit. Enter car registration online and pick up at local store or have it delivered. Local Toyota dealer wanted £480. In last 12 years I have has 2 punctures but had spare or spacesaver. Our roads are not kind to tyres. Ready for it now.

C-HR vs Yaris Crosshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/219968-c-hr-vs-yaris-cross/ Could i ask members who have driven both their views i was going to go with the Yaris Cross next but am now leaning towards the C-HR as its bigger but not too big.

(parking is very limited where i live)

I know there are other models that are a bit wider and taller compared to the Yaris but i prefer the C-HR.

Replacement 12V battery for CHR 2.0 hybrid 2020 modelhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221611-replacement-12v-battery-for-chr-20-hybrid-2020-model/ I have had an issue with my 2020 CHR as it did not start after 7 days of no use. I measured the voltage on the Battery and it was around the 8V region.

I went with some of the recomandation from the forum and got a Yuasa YBX5012 Battery but when I try to fit it, all is well expect the breather pipe. The breather pipe connection does not match the breather hole in the Battery. I noticed that the original battery had an adaptor which I pulled out and tried to put in the new battery but it does not work. Did anyone find any adaptor or new breather connection for this type of battery or how did they manage to fit this battery?

Many thanks.

What Ah Battery in 2022 C-HR?https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221557-what-ah-battery-in-2022-c-hr/ I have spotted a very low mileage 2022 C-HR (1.8) at my local Toyota dealer that I’m interested in buying

The mileage is so low that it makes me worry about the condition of the 12v Battery

Can anyone tell me what is the correct Ah Battery for a 2022 C-HR 1.8?

I don’t do a lot of mileage but my Prius has never given me any Battery problems and that’s got a 52Ah so I’m hoping the C-HR has something similar as it’s got the same 1.8 engine

Thanks in advance

12v and usb in boothttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221395-12v-and-usb-in-boot/ Hi there

Got a 2021 GR Sport and in the boot behind a removable panel is a 12 feed and double usb feed. They all seem to be dead. I didn't know that the C-HR had these. Asked the dealer and they want to book it in to have a look as they say if they are there then they should work.

When looking at other 2021 GR C-HRs they don't seem to have these side covers, let alone any supply plugs.

Anyone else got either the side covers or the supply sockets?

Thanks for any help

Peter

Hybrid use questionhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221371-hybrid-use-question/ I currently own a Hyundai Ioniq and a Toyota Yaris hybrid. We will be retiring soon so we will change two cars for one. There are three possibilities: an updated Ioniq, a Toyota C-HR or a Toyota Yaris Cross. I like the size and extra height of the Toyota's but this will also be down to economy and my only experience of Toyota hybrid technology so far has been disappointing.

I find that the Yaris will only use EV mode up to 40mph and under no circumstances use EV after that. Furthermore, even when it is in EV mode, it reverts to the ICE very easily. With careful driving, I can get 65mpg in the summer and struggle to get 60mpg in the winter.

In comparison, my Ioniq will move into EV mode at any speed and stay there for longer far more easily. Even at 75mph it will switch to EV mode if there is enough charge in the batteries. Despite the fact that the Ioniq is far bigger and heavier than the Yaris, with a much higher specification, it will always get more mpg than the Yaris. In the winter in poor conditions for economy I can easily achieve 60-65mpg. In the summer on a long journey at a fairly steady 60-65mph I can nudge 85mpg, dwarfing what the Yaris can achieve.

Given that in the summer I can get an extra 20mpg out of the Ioniq over the Yaris, I am naturally hesitant about getting either of the Toyota versions.

For those who have used the C-HR and Yaris Cross hybrids, do they operate like the Yaris or Ioniq? On a long journey at a steady 60mpg, will they get anywhere close to the 85mpg the Ioniq will do?

Excel vs GR Sporthttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221239-excel-vs-gr-sport/ I am interested in buying an old shape CH-R 2022-2023 model

New CHRhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221354-new-chr/ Evening all, I am picking up my CHR Excel Plugin tomorrow!

Downsizing from a MY22 RAV4 plugin.

Anyone got any recommendations to do with the car first apart from drive it 😁.

I remember from multiple test drives the speed alert warning was annoying so will look to turn that off or silenced.

What other things have you turned on or off? I remember getting a bit lost in the amount of options that console had and I liked the cabin light color selector.

12v Battery Location?https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221336-12v-battery-location/ Can somebody with a 2024 C-HR confirm that the 12v Battery is under the rear seat please? The manual I am looking at shows it as being behind a panel in the boot, but I can't find a panel! I am guessing that it is under the seat as in my previous Yaris Cross. I have a CTEK and a bluetooth Battery monitor I want to install and do not want to start until I know for sure.
