Does anyone know where to find the part/number?  Are they interchangeable left and right, front or rear ?

Urgent - possible safety issue with 2024 Rav PHEVhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221857-urgent-possible-safety-issue-with-2024-rav-phev/ Today I was driving normally on the Sheffield Ring Road and came to a stop at the head of a queue at traffic lights. I was in the offside lane with a large van on my left. The lights changed after traffic had been crossing from left to right. With the lights fully on green I slowly moved forward but with limited visibility to my left because of the van. Horrifyingly two more vehicles crossed from left to right absolutely at red!  Then as I began to accelerate my power died. The accelerator totally failed to respond. There was a big queue of traffic behind me and traffic in the near side lane was beginning to flow. I looked at the display but could see no obvious reason for the loss of power. I did have three repeated bleeps. Fortunately the cars kept moving forward at 10mph and putting my hazards on I found a slot, moved left and turned off the dual carriageway into a side road.  I could see no way whatsoever of getting back to “normal”. I pressed the start button to off and everything returned to normal when I restarted. As I drove away I thought it possible that a failsafe collision avoidance system had taken over….but in fact it created danger if that was the reason. Talked to Vertu Toyota and tomorrow am going in for a diagnostic check but the man on the phone could only offer the same theory. If so it is ludicrous and we should be demanding a recall.  I was in much more danger by being stranded in the middle of a junction than merely being annoyed at someone jumping a red light.   My dash am has the exterior view of the event but sadly there is no way of recording what came up on the multi information screen in front of me.  If there was a visible warning I certainly couldn’t see it. All your theories and experiences welcomed. Should I, COULD I have moved from D to N and restarted whilst wheels were turning. I surely could not have just switched off.  What choices did I have? None it seems.

2022 RAV4 stolenhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/209692-2022-rav4-stolen/ I have not been on this forum for while but my 2022 March car was stolen last night. Fortunetly I used MYT app located the car and recovered. Entertainment Screen and some other stuff were removed and the hybrid multifunction error was on the screen.  I took it to the Toyota service and asked for explanation how someone managed to drive away without keys.. The service manager said it is really easy to start the car from left frot headlight and it takes 5 minutes.

I will be contacting Toyota UK to explain this and try to return the car or find a way to secure it. It looks like their security system faulty and someone can drive the car away with little effort.

Newbie, with some queries. First Toyotahttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/219256-newbie-with-some-queries-first-toyota/ Hi,

Just purchased my first Toyota, it is a Rav 4 2013 Invincible, 126k manual 2.2. Feel really pleased with car done around 100miles in it since yesterday all seems ok. Have some queries and would appreciate any help Car is a a little more sluggish than I was expecting, I did test drive the car but I was with an elderly gentlemen so didn't really push it, feels like its not revving freely might just be me not used to the engine etc. Can you have the mirrors fold when you lock the car?  My Autel reader cannot read the vin automatically when I enter it manually it still does not read, could be I am getting my zero' and O's mixed up. When I manually try to do it it asks me what the engine is I settled on 2AD-FTV no idea if this is right, it did throw codes which I cleared P1608 (engine lack of power) Current others were historic.

I am not a mechanic but quite willing to try suggested fixes or should I take this to a garage to have a proper scan?

Thank you

Techstream settingshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221845-techstream-settings/ Asked the dealer to turn off the audible warning when a seat belt is not worn in the back seat. They've said that option is not available on the 2024 RAV4 ☹️

Was available on my 2021 corolla.

Apart from leaving seat belt plugged in behind passengers (the teen kids) if they do not want to put on seat belt, what do others do?

Gen 5 - Roof bars - Toyota or Thule?https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221838-gen-5-roof-bars-toyota-or-thule/ Hi everyone,

I want to get some roof bars, but am wondering what will be best, Toyota or Thule?

I want to avoid unnecessary water ingress in the channels to try and keep leaks at bay, is the risk the same with either one of these?

Which ones do you have and why did you chose them?

RAV4 Hybrid Rear Suspensionhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221851-rav4-hybrid-rear-suspension/ Hello, not posted here before as haven't had any isside with my car (2018 RAV4 Hydrid icon Tech).

However, just gone into the dealer for a service/MOT and rear trailing arm bushes are shot, they have me over a barrel as it's an MOT failure and can't drive the car away.

Aplogies as this has been discussed before in older posts, just wanted to wake up the topic again, any recent similar experainces/comments/feedback appraciated.

Also had two advisories (Toyota not MOT):

1. The Rear Spring Cushions were damaged, from parts diagrams I can see that there are a couple of rubber/polyyrethane parts in the rear spring arrangement, can anyone point me at the 'cushions' and are they simple to replace.

2. Recommend fuel additive! There are no other details, could be a cleaning additive of a lubricity additive?

2011 Rav 4 Parking sensor enablehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221846-2011-rav-4-parking-sensor-enable/ MiL has a Rav 4 2011 RHD assume UK spec.

This has a reverse camera but she is adamant it had parking sensors (I see no bumper warts) that have recently stopped.

I cannot find any switches, menu items or other way in which they could be enabled / diabled. All vids and info online seems gen 4 or 5.

Is there a way these can be turned on or off ?

Help / advice pleasehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221830-help-advice-please/ Hi there hope you can shed some light / advice please.I have a 2011.Rav4 D-4D, manual, with 88k on the clock. Driving to work approx 1 week ago came away from roundabout approx 30mph, car lost power and had white smoke coming from exhaust and part of the front.  The engine check light came on, so did the VSC, the steering wheel light and control unit says check 4 x 4 system.  No previous warnings, checked the signs for head gasket, ie coolant etc all looked ok. Car wouldn't start after this and had to get it towed to garage. Car is still under warranty (scotsure warranty). Fault reader so far has shown startability issue P1604. Any one experienced this before please and any advice is v welcome. From what I've read it could be injector held open causing the white smoke etc. Hoping it's not a costly fix

Side/wing mirrorshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221811-sidewing-mirrors/ Hi.

Bought a 2003 4-door Rav4 MkII, last year and absolutely love it! A few bits needed fixing (expected), but I’m also looking to upgrade a few things – such as changing the current, manual-close side mirrors, to auto-close when you turn off the engine.

I called Toyota but they don’t offer an upgrade kit, nor do they seem to promote the issue. So I thought I’d ask around to see if anyone’s had success in making the switch. If so, any tips would be great.

Thanks,

Billie

I am about 4 weeks into owning my PHEV. It has a ''TRAIL'' mode which I haven't used yet.

Are there any words of wisdom about using/not using this please? I broadly understand the principles but in the real world any advice gratefully received.

Just bought a 2016 Rav4 hybridhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221795-just-bought-a-2016-rav4-hybrid/ Further to my previous post, I've just bought this 2016 Rav4 Hybrid Excell.

It's an unusuall bronze colour with cool seats.

Just a few questions.

1. No nav, I thought all excell models came with 3d nav??

2. Some weird milky stains on inside of my rear lights

3. alloys look unusual, all other excells for sale seem to have a different design.

Paperwork done for my plugin hybrid. Toyota Home Charge (free until end of July) ordered.

Earliest date for video consultation is currently first week of July. Then 2 - 3 weeks after that to get installed.

I'm in London. Different areas will have different timescales based on number of engineers and availability.

Inbuilt SatNav is rather goodhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221697-inbuilt-satnav-is-rather-good/ Took the new car up to Durham this weekend to pickup the boy from uni. Handles lovely but my surprise was that the car's SatNav is really good. Didn't really miss Google maps, in fact the SatNav is very google-like. Used the voice prompt to say where I wanted to go and had no problems. First had to go to kingsX St Pancras. Told it St Pancras and it did not disappoint.

Is there yet a sting in the tail that I'm not aware of?

Back to Toyota after many years, but a couple of questions..https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221618-back-to-toyota-after-many-years-but-a-couple-of-questions/ As the title says, I am back in a Toyota after many years and I have a bit of an issue with my 2011 Rav4 D4D D-Cat Automatic. It might be nothing, or it might be something but I must confess to being a bit lost as to which.

My main area of concern is with the gearbox. I hadn’t driven an automatic in years other than a VW DSG every so often which I know is not really the same thing but over time, I became convinced that the box is not working as it should. I decided to have it serviced and the filter changed with the genuine Toyota one and while the gearchange became much smoother, nothing else changed much really.

Maybe I have forgotten how a true auto box behaves but it does not seem to put the power down, preferring instead to rev higher than I would like. I see a marked difference in behaviour between driving it in auto and driving it in manual gear select mode. I have noticed that when in manual mode, if I flick the gear lever into auto, the engine revs usually rise whereas they drop down again when flicked back into manual select and I can feel the jeep pull better if you follow what I mean. Is this normal or could it be said that the gearbox is slipping? It isn’t perfect in manual mode either as it will sometimes seem to hold out in a gear longer than it should, or indeed remain one gear too high with the accompanying revving. Maybe I am overthinking this but given the fuel consumption of one of these, I want to ensure there is nothing wrong with it. Are they all like this, or this one slipping meaning I have an expensive problem? Can anyone please share how their jeep behaves? It would be most appreciated as I am in two minds about the car at this point.

Thanks very much, and hello to all,

AJ

Wife wants to start using my carhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221683-wife-wants-to-start-using-my-car/ Anyone faced into the dreaded conversation....

Mine started with .... no and kind of stopped there. 🤣

Reality though is she drives a i30 13 plate although only got 38000 on it. Quite rusty underneath but I guess that's expected. Fine on viewing although no Apple car play which drives her crazy!!!

Trade in value 4.2k...

She knows I'm clearing the finance on my rav4 in Feb so I'm guessing she's trying to use this as leverage to get me to divert my current 337 to a new car for her over letting her drive mine.

Married life....

Undertrayhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221546-undertray/ Afternoon all, hope you're all enjoying the sunshine, if it has appeared where you are!

If anyone has a petrol auto gen 4 (2016 in my case), would you be able to confirm the part number for the bit of the undertray that covers the oil sump, transmission etc?

The "main" part of the tray appears to be 51410-42100, but I think I have a bit missing, and can't seem to figure it out from diagrams on the web.

Cheers all

Scott
