Opening and closing windows with the key

As summer approaches I've got out of the car without having put the windows up. For the last 20 years across various car I've been able to remedy this by holding the lock car button on the key down. It doesn't work on my BZ4X. I've spoken to my garage and they've said it can be changed but it's a workshop fix. Anybody else had this problem and got a driveway fix? Thanks.

If you have a sufficiently fancy OBD2 tool or access to Toyota Techstream you can DIY. I think either Carly or  Carista can do it. Otherwise the easiest way is to get the dealer to enable it

How do “non dealers” obtain techstream?

It is something that the dealer can do and I got them to do it on my previous Yaris Cross - it was a 10 minute job and I was not charged. Guess who forgot to ask the dealer to do the same on the new C-HR?

Ironically the same place dealersThe official place to get it is via Toyota-tech.eu - You can buy the time-limited licences and download it from there. You'll still need the special VCI cable thing that plugs into the laptop, which I think you can also order from there.

You can also buy them as a bundle from some eBay sellers with the cable and software on a disc, but I suspect they are more of an Arr Me Hearties! :pirate: nature if you get my drift...

TBH it's less hassle to just get the dealer to do it - They probably won't even charge for it, esp. if it's requested during a service.

Thank you for your great information.
the only thing i really really want to change is the rsa reset on my 2022 that was not there on my 2019

dealer has said its a “feature” and refused to change.
if you happento know of a dealer more friendly i would be eternally grateful.

Thanks for all the info, most of which has gone over my head! I'll talk to the dealer next time the car goes in, but I'll be livid if they want to charge me for it.

Is there anything else I will miss at some point that is really in there that I can get by asking for it? My BZ is an AWD Vision.
