I have just bought ( second hand ) a navigation module with the following specs: Type: BE 7718 / Version: ECE / HW:G / SW 4.5.0L

I have connected to my toyota touch 2 main unit ( Last firmware ) but it does not recognize it . I have checked all the cables with a multimeter for any errors.

I've since replaced it with an original Toyota 58806 head unit with sat nav & CD changer

I know these can show different things on the screen such as outside temperature ( although there is already a separate temperature display next to the clock )

Looking at CN700 ( 18-pin ) connector there are various 'engine type ver.' pins which I assume are either ignition Voltage or ground to tell the radio what options to display

Can anyone shed light on what the various options are?

There seems to be 4 options which I assume are things like 'option 1 outside temp. trip computer', 'option 2 outside temp. no trip computer', etc.

I would like the outside temp. display with no trip computer if this is possible as I want to add a second temperature sensor and use this as a cabin temperature display

Iv a Yaris cross import,  it has navigation & iv purchased Europe maps Touch 3 2024 

Each time I put usb in the car It just says unsupported. 

Iv no idea other than putting the maps on the usb and then using the usb on the car.

I have a 2014 Auris 2 (hybrid sports touring). Previously, it had a Touch and Go 1 installed with an original rearview camera. However, now when I put it in reverse, nothing happens.

Also, not all buttons on the steering wheel are working. Volume + and -, mute, and answering and rejecting calls work. You can manually set these with the radio by selecting the button on the screen and the button on the steering wheel. Thus, you can configure which button does what. But buttons for skipping forward or backward and the OK button are not recognized.
Also there is no electric information screen anymore. 

Are there people who have managed to get their original rearview camera working? I did receive a separate camera with cables, but I want to use the original camera.

Also, I didn't receive a CANbus module. I asked about this beforehand. The seller said I didn't need it. I'm not exactly sure what that module does because the rest of the unit works, and some buttons on the steering wheel do work.

Im trying to install a bluetooth adapter in the cd changer slot, I have installed the adapter in the 6+6 slot and the LED indicator is flashing red, I find the adapter on my phone and can connect to it so it is powered on. But when i press the DISC button on the radio to switch to CD nothing is happening. Im not sure if it is the adapter that is not recognized or if its problem with the car stereo unit. Nothing was connected to the 6+6 slot before install so I wonder if the DISC button should make a change even if nothing in the 6+6 slot is recognized. Maybe its the button thats not working? AM/FM buttons is working.

My car radio unit is W58830.

I have 3 Toyota imports and iv switched speedo on all 3. From kmh to mph . Yaris And corolla, 2022.

They all work fine but I'm left with tpms/two light flashing on start up and they staying lit.

Could anyone help with what I need to do, I still have all the old speedos.

Adding in some rear Speakers to my 2003 hiace commuter (12 seater)

I’ve recently purchased a JVC head unit with the appropriate harnesses (JVC to ISO & ISO to Toyota). All hooked up and working properly, but I don’t know where to wire in the rear Speakers. The van only has 2 small front Speakers, I’m assuming there is 2 more channels ( 4 terminals) somewhere in the harnesses for rear speakers too? Or do I have to splice them into the existing speaker cables?
 

As you can probably tell, I have next to no experience with electrical/audio stuff… any knowledge or advice on the matter would be much appreciated!

I would like to change the radio to a "big screen" version and would still like to have CD-player in it. Navigation and bluetooth audio would be a plus (but I will need to install a microphone to make it work with phone calls) and DAB(+) and Android Auto/Apple Car Play aren't anything I need. One big need is however that I am able to use remote buttons on the steering wheels.

I have read somewhere that aftermarket radios (the technical term would probably be head unit) have issues with using them remote buttons, so I am considering.... is it possible to take a "newer"/"more fancy" OEM Toyota (probably Panasonic) unit and install - like something from an Avensis (e.g. B9000 - yes I know it is without bluetooth but it have got radio, CD and Nav). I know it may not physical fit to look snug (but I might work something out with a new frame, some acetone and LEGO) and that it most likely will be an absolute hell to reroute wires (Nav-DVD unit in the Yaris is under the driver's seat with the B9000 having a DVD or SD-card behind the screen, the Yaris radio/CD unit is divided among two units: the Radio/CD unit and a control unit - each with their own set of cables - this control unit will most likely be useless and constantly off after this "hack" - but all in all this mean a very different length of wires in the whole set between the Yaris and most other models). I don't want to get something crazy and expensive like a Touch 2 system just something never than I have abs with a screen. No larger than double DIN obviously.

But is it actually possible to install and operate an OEM radio from a different model and vintage Toyota? It seems that must connectors are the same, however some may have more (I haven't checked if those "extras" are in the DVD-unit under the seat).

Is there anything technical I should be aware of on such a project? 

Does anyone know of an upgrade that would help and is easy to fit?

Im looking for a replacement aerial for my toyota yaris hybrid and ive found them ranging from as little as about £3 upto about £10,

My question is..would it be worth paying out the extra money or would the cheaper universal aerial option be ok?

Apologies if this is a common question but I thought best to creat a new entry for my questions.

This is not plug and play as I assumed...

How do I find my speakera at the radio harness end.  The supplied harness ends in audio type jacks but my car harness has nothing similar that I can see.

I also attached a picture of the back of my old radio sat nav. And the front.  Any ideas on the which pins do what so I can have a better chance of finding corresponding cables...

Opinions or experience of similar installs welcome

This is what appears for the Aerosmith track "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing". This display does not scroll across.

All I get is "I DON'T". I wrote this title as "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" using both lower and upper case, yet it appears only in upper case. It is also too large. Is there any way to scroll and show the text as I originally wrote it in smaller text so I can see the whole of the text in the display without having to scroll?
