I'm In Shock

As mentioned elsewhere on the forum, I am collecting my new C-HR on Monday. I received a text today from the dealer telling my what the registration number is. I rang An Post Insurance,  who have me covered with Aviva, (but bear in mind I am in Ireland). After the obligatory automated menus, I was put straight through to an advisor - no waiting, no silly music and a young lady that appeared to be in Ireland, (!). I told her that I wanted to change the vehicle cover from next Monday and, after getting the necessary details from me, she told me that the cover was sorted.................and I would get a €23.59 refund :shocking:. The new car has a bigger engine, it is brand new and is worth a few grand more than the Yaris Cross, yet appears to be cheaper to insure!

Hi David,it sounds like we should all go with the same insurance. Based on this out goes my Auris and in comes a Lamborghini. Brilliant.

Insurance premiums are indeed a mystery.

As Toyah sang in the 80s , it's a mythstery , it's a mythstery and so on.

Reminds me of when we renewed our house insurance in December, we increased the contents cover to the next band. 50% more contents cover for an £80 refund on the renewal.

My little Honda CD200 is due for renewal. Got the reminder today gone from £92 last year to £102 this year. Filled in Quidco with the details and the cheapest is £57 with £23 back in 3 months off Quidco.

That's £34 for 12 months comprehensive insurance.

There is no sense to any of it.

When I exchanged my Corolla for a Yaris Cross, no change just £30 admin.

They lost me this year as too busy and failed to return a phone call. Maybe back next year.
