I recently bought a 2012 Toyota Verso, I have no complaints about it. However, ever since I bought it, I've been wondering about one thing. Sometimes the car beeps while driving. I have versions with an alarm, navigation, manual gearbox, automatic air conditioning, and a reversing camera. Could someone tell me what this beeping means? Sometimes I hear a single beep and sometimes I hear a double beep. I wonder if it's because the car sometimes tells me to change gear

Smoke when driving on high revshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/220629-smoke-when-driving-on-high-revs/

Hi, I have owned German diesel cars in the past  Along with some  usual short drives i regularly drive a 250 mile round motorway trip once a week. This kept my cars driving cycles good and with regular maintenance i’ve never had any issues with them. As Auto clutch for my 3 series was dying after nearly 300k on the clock so i decided not to spend any further on it & picked one Toyota Verso 2010 D4D with 170k on it. Car looked clean, I test drove it, no smoke, starts and drives sweet so i take it home. I do a few short journeys as usual fir a few days without any issues but the day i take it to the work on a motorway i noticed huge cloud of smoke behind my car. As i never had this before i pulled out on next services , kept my engine running, no warning lights and then smoke disappears after a few minutes. I revved engine and nothing comes out. Thinking it could have been dpf trying to  regen i drove off again keeping an eye on it. Throughout rest of my journey i realised smoke coming out times and again (getting really thick at times, annoying cars behind me) and then dying off.  I thought might be a good idea to drive it with some higher revs as the car was not driven by previous owner for a few months (what he claimed).

Smoke thickness appears to be consistent with me keeping the lower gears (4th) keeping rpms to 2500 to maintain roughly 60 mph. This was getting thicker if car was driving uphill .

If i put car on a higher gears e.g 6th , keeping rpms around  1500 and 70 mph, no issues at all or smoke but eml came on with vsc system check warning. Stopped the car at next services , checked code with my OBD it was P2002*Particulate trap efficiency below threshold*. I cleared the code drove off again. No eml again but smoke continued if i drive in higher revs.

Car pulls fine through each gear and i did not find any issues with the power or atleast didn’t get any indication that turbo was not functioning correctly.

I am not sure if its DPF as after burning soot and cunk for nearly two hours i would have thought it would have cleared some of it. But P2002 code appears to be indicating towards DPF.

Just checking if someone can direct me into the right direction. I don’t want to spend replacing parts unless i know exactly what may be the cause but i would highly appreciate your input.

The metal grinding noise after a engine oil changehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/216761-the-metal-grinding-noise-after-a-engine-oil-change/ I have a 2012 Verso-S automatic ( UK based) and six months ago when I took the car to get the engine oil changed it gave a huge metal grinding noise for 3-4 seconds upon starting the car ( at the garage). The noise disappeared afterwards.

That was my 2nd oil change on this car and it never happened during the 1st chamge as I always stay near the car to observe how they do it.

When I asked the technician he said that was because the pump did not had enough oil and upon starting the engine pump start pumping the oil to the engine or something.

Is this normal for Verso-S? The guy did put the correct amount of oil too including tightening up the sump plug before adding the new oil.

Any idea what could have done differently to avoid this metal grinding noise come again at the next oil change pls?

My car is 84k now and I prefer to xhange the oil every 6 monthly amd one due soon soI would lile to receive your thoughts on this problem pls. TIA

If you do, do you rekon its better than the 0W20 what the Verso-S has been recommended on?

Does your Verso-S burns engine oil so much too?https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/216500-does-your-verso-s-burns-engine-oil-so-much-too/ It seems my 2012 Verso-S, 1NRFE 1.33 automatic burns our quiet a bit of engine oil. I think rough for 1000 miles im adding 300ml of oil...

Im a huge fan of this car care nut guy on YouTube and according to him it's piston rings and old type pistons. Ive checked with the Toyota recently how many hours to get the piston rings changed and its apparently an 18hr job...

I use 0w20 fully synthetic and now thinking to use 0w30 on my next oil change to see if that gonna help the oil burns. 0w30 hasn't been recommended on the Verso-S manual and im also wondering if 0w30 is actually good or bad...

Stereo won't turn off (and other problems)https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/212315-stereo-wont-turn-off-and-other-problems/ Verso-s petrol 2014.

When you turn the car off and remove the key the screen starts up again.  You can manually turn the display off in the settings, but the Battery still drains.

About the same time as I got this problem the key remote stopped working.

Anyone seen this problem before?

Verso-s window deflectorshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/216065-verso-s-window-deflectors/ Ive bought a full set of fully tinted window deflectors from eBay year ago for like £40 which I beleive it was made in Poland.

As im 190cm in height the deflectors cover good 2 inches of my view from the front windscreen pillar and was very dangerous in some instances due to the lesser visibility.

I had since then thought to get rid of it as I did not wanted to risk myself or anyone else putting in danger and start looking for a different brand as the EbayHeka brand  one only does fully tinted versions only.

It is extremely difficult to find an alternative but with luck i have located a company in Nederlands who seel them but at at a higher price. They also does the clear and smoky grey versions.

I have bought a clear frint door pair and its it really good quality made comparing to the Heka brand from Poland. Thisbit cost me €75 in all and luckily no custom charges when received. Had to wait 8 weeks for it though.

I have attached few pictures of the item if anyone is interested buy any as its very useful especially in the winter to get the fog out of the windscreen

Engine cut out whilst drivinghttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/214452-engine-cut-out-whilst-driving/ Verso 2011 2.0 d4d engine AR2-AUR20.

Just getting up to speed joining  motorway when there was a bang sound followed by loads of rattling and loads of blue smoke which looked like the car was on fire. After pulling on to the hard shoulder the engine was running very fast before it then stopped. Engine light on with code p0093 for fuel system large leak. Can't see any leaks. Any idea what it might be? I'm thinking the turbo has gone AWOL and maybe fuel pump as well. Engine oil smells burnt.

Blocked windscreen washer nozzle - Verso Shttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/197396-blocked-windscreen-washer-nozzle-verso-s/ I have a thing about dirty windscreens so I give mine a quick squirt and wash every day!  That is, until I was furloughed last year for 6 months.  During this time the car was hardly used and now I have a problem with the front washer nozzle, the motor is working fine but the water just dribbles out and only reaches the bottom of the screen, not high enough to be picked up by the wiper arm. We have blown it through from the bottle end using a stirrup pump, and we've tried the same thing but from the nozzle end, plus we've done the usual pin down the nozzle trick but it seems that the blockage is just below the nozzle itself.  Getting at the nozzle itself seems very involved so before I hand it over to a garage, has anyone any tips please?

The rear washer is working perfectly.

Rear washer not working, no pump noisehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/207496-rear-washer-not-working-no-pump-noise/ The rear washer has ceased to work on my Verso S, I can't hear the motor running when I want to apply water.  The wiper itself works fine and using a foot pump to blow back to the water bottle has shown that it's not blocked.  That doesn't surprise me because the problem seems to be with the pump, I can't hear it.  The front washer and wipers are fine.

Aircon issuehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/212447-aircon-issue/ My Ac turns off itself and the light also goes itself after around 15mints of use. However the fan continues to blow. The cool air also seems not that cool anymore. Ive had the new condenser put up 4 months ago along with new gas. Ive read on the Internet to this could be an issue of the aircon relay. The trouble is I cannot locate to exact which one is the aircon relay and on the manual those two blue colour relays are not showing either.  Can someone please tell me with the issue symptoms this could be an gas leak or the relay? Also, can you please gelp me to find the location of the relay and the OEM number please? Tia!

Dome light door switchhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/212188-dome-light-door-switch/ Hi all,

I'm Mike From Netherlands and driving a 2006 verso Lhd

Now today I replaced the light in the interior in the middle
And I probably short circuited.

Fuse replaced and the light did it again, only now I notice that when it is open on the doors stand, the lighting no longer turns on
Does anyone know if there are any other fuses or relays related to this?

Thanks in advance
