Verso Club Latest Topicshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/forum/130-verso-club/Verso Club Latest TopicsenCvt fluid changehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221758-cvt-fluid-change/ I'm sure this has been asked before but searching around I didn't find much.

We have switched our verso from diesel to petrol automatic. It's 2010 reg so I believe fitted with k311 gearbox. It's done 93k miles and I'm keen on servicing CVT gearbox as it  sometimes hangs on to lower gears for bit too long on flat road and paddle shifter fails to force a gear up too. I'm thinking it'll be cheaper to service it now then replace it later, if it gives up on me. Hopefully servicing will prolong the life of gearbox.

I've seen the method of refill and drain couple of times but really don't like that. I'm more towards taking the sump pan off clean the magnets and change the filter.

Has anyone here done it that way? Anything I need to be aware of other than measuring the fluid and putting back exact amount?

Also would 5l be enough? According to manual it takes over 7 ltrs for dry gearbox but you can't drain torque converter and some other areas completely.

Anybody able to drop me a technical manual if they have access to Toyota official document?

It seems quite an expensive fluid too. I've been quoted £120 by local Toyota dealer for 5L. If anybody knows a cheaper place please let me know. Fluid must be either by Aisin or Toyota as I don't like mixing 2 different makes or putting some third party fluid in. It's too critical of a part.

Airbag light - How to read the code?https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221638-airbag-light-how-to-read-the-code/ Hi guys. I have an airbag warning light on the dash of my 09 Verso. A basic OBD II reader doesn't see it, I think they scan the engine only.

What's an economical tool that can read the extended systems in a verso? So many tools/readers on the market these days it's overwhelming!

Fuel injectors not codinghttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221629-fuel-injectors-not-coding/ Hi,

I have a verso that needed 4 new injectors. We got four from an avensis. Three different mechanics have looked at it and have not been able to code the injectors. Any suggestions?

Engine Management Light and Warrantyhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/216179-engine-management-light-and-warranty/ The engine management light on my 2017 Verso 1.6 D4D came on last night, so I haven't driven it since. It has only 39K on the clock and a full Toyota service history.

Last week it seemed to briefly lose power at the end of a journey, but seemed fine afterwards - no warning lights at that point.

My car is covered by Toyota Relax, so I phoned my dealer this morning and they can't book it in until October 29th ! I'm taking it to a local garage to get a diagnostic done tomorrow.

The problem is : what if it is needing a repair and I have to get it done my the local garage - will this invalidate my warranty ?

I can't possibly wait two months without driving the car !

Any advice gratefully received !

Rear bumper, before and after 2013 facelifthttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221590-rear-bumper-before-and-after-2013-facelift/ Hello there,

I have the following issue: I own a 2010 Verso and this weekend we had a minor accident, by which our rear bumber was severely damaged. I have now found a replacement bumper online, second hand, but it has this black strip in the bottom, which makes it appear as if this is a post-facelift bumper.

The shop that sells the item won't let me return it if it doesn't fit, so I was wondering: does anyone here know whether this post-facelift bumper will fit on my 2010 Verso?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

Kind regards from The Netherlands

Oil consumptionhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221468-oil-consumption/ Had the Low engine light on today when parked up. Check dip stick, oil was below the minimum mark.

I am shocked as the oil was at the full mark 3000 miles ago in March.

I suspect it has used 2 litres of oil! I am puzzled as the car never consumed oil between oil change. The oil was replaced in March just before I had the car bumper repaired by the garage. I noted that when I collected the car, the garage added about 10 miles to the odometer and also the clutch behave slightly different. I wonder they did something to the car when they had the car for a week.

Will keep an eye on the oil level on a weekly basis from now on.

PCV Valve locationhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221162-pcv-valve-location/ Hello all,

I’m looking for the PCV valve location on my engine, the cars done 112,000 miles so would like to get this replaced. After researching for the past few days on YouTube, internet, eBay, forums and owners manual I can’t find the thing anywhere.

I’ve put a screenshot of my engine (1AD-FTV 2.0 D4D 2013) below if anyone could highlight where it could be that’d be great.

There is a hose coming from the plastic cover at the top right of the engine leading to the air intake, I believe it’s around there somewhere, perhaps I have to take off the plastic cover?

many thanks

2015 Toyota Verso vs 2015 Mazda CX5 vs Nissan Qashqaihttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221195-2015-toyota-verso-vs-2015-mazda-cx5-vs-nissan-qashqai/ Hello. Looking for your somewhat biased opinion. Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Verso or a 2015 Mazda CX5 or a 2015 Nissan Qashqai? I want a reliable, reliable, reliable, fuel efficient, comfortable, quiet, family-friendly car. In that order. I have been driving a 2010 Prius for around 8 years. It's been incredibly reliable apart from a recalled break booster that didn't fail for us within the time limit and so we had to Shell out for it. I want to buy another Toyota because they are....just....so...reliable but the Mazda looks quite attractive to me. All of the Prius Plus models in my price range have more than 250,000 miles on them. I'd like to buy something below 100,000. I like the way the Verso looks. It will be carrying two adults and two teenage children, possibly a dog or two if I get my way, on trips to school (not the dogs), shopping and family holidays Cornwall, France etc. I'm worried the 1.6 diesel will be slow and lumbering to drive but once you change to the 2 liter diesel or the petrol engine the road tax sky rockets. It's not the cost of the road tax but my intention of wanting a car that is fuel-efficient and low emissions. Hence, looking at Nissan Qashqai and Mazda CX5.......is this a horrible comparison? Thanks in advance for your thoughts! Tell me I want the Verso!

1AD-FTV cylinder order.https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/220907-1ad-ftv-cylinder-order/ Hi,

On engine 1AD-FTV Are these cylinders order 1,2,3,4 from the timing side of the gearbox side.

I ask because I have just installed 4 x injectors and coded them as cylinder 1 being from the timing chain side. Car now runs fine but has new fault code P1601  injector correction value fault which indicates incorrect compensate codes entered? Also still smoke with strong smell of fuel.

What have I not done? Or what do I need to do?

Thanks in advance.

Misfire...https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/219301-misfire/ When I get error code P0303, it is a misfire on cylinder 3. I have changed the coil and plug, and deleted the error code. After a few meters of driving, I get a warning on the display about check vsc system. Why does that warning keep coming up even though I've deleted it after I've changed to new coils and plugs? Seems like the car runs on 3 cylinders plus the engine shakes at speed when it is under load. Could it be the cam sensor that is defective or not working properly? Anyone with experience or advice? The car is a Verso 2010 1.6L. 😕

2017 Radio not Compatible with 2013 Versohttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/209243-2017-radio-not-compatible-with-2013-verso/ I'm a bit gutted but hoping someone here may able to help me. I've got a 2013 Verso with the CD player and wanted the 2017+ Radio with the slightly bigger screen. Anyway here's me assuming it would be a straight swap but unfortunately not. As you can see some of the sockets are different. When I plugged the ones that fit in, I found that DAB didn't work, iPhone wasn't recognised and the rear camera didn't work.

Is there a simple way to get this to work on my 2013 Verso without having to start cutting wires?

Change Ac control panel to a different model.https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/208303-change-ac-control-panel-to-a-different-model/ Hello. The temperature button on the drivers side is broken and i cant change the temperature on the ac.  I want to change it to the verso panel with a wheel instead of buttons, is that possible? The wheel panel is super easy to find and 10 times cheaper.  I am from Sweden so the driver side is left.

It is a 5-speed petrol car, made 2007 but i think it is a 2008.  Cheers!

Cycling of the glow plug to start car when coldhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/219167-cycling-of-the-glow-plug-to-start-car-when-cold/ Car in question is: 2010 Verso 2.0 Diesel

For the last few years, the car seems to struggle to start if I only start the car with 1 cycling of the glow plug, in the morning. After that it will be fine. Replaced the glow plugs and no difference, replaced the Battery and no difference. Fuel filter was replaced too.

I wonder if this is related to the SCV valves as other threads I seen on this website that have similar symptoms. Also I wonder if the glow plug relay could cause this?

2010 Verso 2.2D-cat repair manualhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/219847-2010-verso-22d-cat-repair-manual/ Hello,

I would appreciate if anyone has a link to a complete repair manual for the verso 2010 with the 2.2D-cat engine

if said manual we’re to also include other areas of the vehicle like a complete repair manual, that would be awesome.

my verso has a lack of power and a bit of blow by when I remove the oil cap and might do a ring-job myself but I need the tightening specs and part numbers would be nice but the repair info is more important at this point in time

Verso 2.0 D-4D for daughter's 1st car: thoughts?https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/219845-verso-20-d-4d-for-daughters-1st-car-thoughts/ Hi all, just joined this forum after considering seriously rejoining the Toyota fold after a long absence!

My 20-y.o. daughter is in the market for her first car, and we're looking at a Verso 2.0-4D (2009) for her.  It's attractively priced for her budget, and she can get a decent insurance deal too.  It's got just under 180K mi on the clock, and she'll be doing about 10K/year over the next 3 years (if it keeps going).  So...

  1. I've told her to budget ~£600/year for maintenance - is that realistic for this model and age?  What about reliability - any major issues likely to torpedo that?
  2. The one we're looking at smokes (black) initially upon startup, which clears when it's warm - anyone else had this issue, and how major is it?

Thanks in advance for your input everyone!

Angus

2009 Verso 1.8 2ZR-FAE rocker cover gasket changehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/219821-2009-verso-18-2zr-fae-rocker-cover-gasket-change/ Hi guys

I don't often post here because the Verso is so incredibly reliable; but having reached 120,000 miles I have scheduled in spark plug change along with the usual oil and filters and this time noticed a little oil had made it down into the spark plug thread of one plug, and also there are signs of a small leak from the offside rocker cover.

So new rocker gasket time then. I see the kits include both rocker cover and spark plug tube seals.

Any tips for this before I begin? Does anyone know the correct order to tighten the rocker cover bolts down and what the ultimate torque should be? I'm guessing not a whole lot.

While the cover is off is there anything else I should be checking? I don't want to make it a big job, but if there is other things while the cover is off...

Also one other question; for a long time the car has made a kinda screeching noise momentarily when starting up from cold, lasts no more than a second but it's been going on a long time. Is there any particular point of failure I should be aware of on the 2ZR-FAE? Googling brings up plenty on the older 2ZR-FE but not the FAE. Aside from the noise and minor leak the car is faultless, never given us an issue. I change the oil every 5k miles and it always comes back out clean like it just went in.

New to versohttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/219784-new-to-verso/ I have been looking for ages for a decent mpv for our dogs. Initially I was looking at the Ford C-max, Peugeot 307SW,  Ford Focus Estate and  few others.. then someone said take a look at a verso

From what I can see I think it will suit us fine. As a 2nd car we will only do about 4k miles a year so I will want a petrol. There will be mainly 3 or 4 of us and 2 medium/large dogs. Our budget will be around £3k ish

I had a corolla and it was one of the best cars I'd owned.. totally reliable.

...so questions

Whats the difference between the 1.8 SR, 1.8 T Spirit, 1.8 VVT-i ?

What is the auto box like.. would prefer one if its reliable otherwise manual is fine

Is it Chain or Cambelt - how far does it need to be done

cheers

HID Xenon headlight adjustment without factory head unithttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/219614-hid-xenon-headlight-adjustment-without-factory-head-unit/ Verso 2013 2.0 D4D

I've replaced the factory head unit with a Chinese android screen. I think my headlight adjustment is no longer automatically setting itself and it seems a bit off...

Is there any Toyota software, or third party apps available?

Will I need to take it to a dealer to adjust them?

Thanks!
