Highlander Screen upgrade

Hello i love the highlander but i just cannot get on with the head unit they decided to go with on the highlander such a luxury car they they decided to stick a 10 year old design head unit display in it.

Has anybody found a suitable replacement unit for the highlander , ive seen how to videos and units on chinese websites aliexpress etc , all seem to be for the american version.

Wondering if anybody here has done it on a UK model 2022 one.

It is pretty much the same unit on the RAV4.5 and I agree it isn’t exactly state of the art. To be honest I have got used to it and at least with Apple CarPlay I can use my phone for the likes of satnav and music. It might be worth asking the question in the RAV4 section of the forum although to be honest I have not come across any such topic. Personally I would grit your teeth and learn to live with it. Otherwise how do you find the Highlander? I am considering one next year. It is disappointing Toyota in their strange wisdom have dropped it from the UK. It is still on sale sur le continent. 

It is so good when posters can’t be bothered to follow up their queries! Why bother asking something?

I work at a Toyota Dealer im not really a fan of the old head unit as not much has changed in the 10years since that head units been in place. Although them old units are alot more relaible.

For a 55-60k car from new pretty bad that its got the old style unit installed tbh comparing to the lexus systems over the last 10 years.

I just discovered yesterday that the 73 - 24 plate models have a new style head unit installed but bigger price on the used or new market 

 

The 73 models are few and far between. The Highlander was withdrawn from the UK about a year ago so only a handful with the upgraded infotainment came to the UK.
