Front bumper just came off driving in the rain. Recently Toyota issued a recall for the same issue and said they don't have any remedy for the issue. I paid for the bumper failed and it cost me a lot as I went through my insurance company. I requested Toyota to pay me or to my insurance company for the damages I incurred due to manufacturing fault. Toyota does not want to take responsibility for the issue and said we can't pay anything. I purchased a car for CAD 70000 and its bumper falls on normal use. I will never again buying a Toyota and will ask my friends and family not to buy.

The key will not go in at all and there is damage on the outside chrome cover.  Toyota already has made this an obsolete part, oh joy.  I have been looking around for the part or a site that shows parts but no luck yet.  'Anyone have good parts searching sites?

The seat belt buckles make it nearly impossible for him to buckle. They are difficult even for adults because they get pushed so far down between the seats that the buckle won't click in. Does anyone have any safe solutions or suggestions for how to keep the third row buckles up where they are supposed to be? I can't find any buckle holders that are compatible with the style of seat belt buckle.

At the time of the order, I was told to expect delivery in June this year.  Last update from my dealer was along the lines it "might be October".

Less than 2 weeks after I ordered the website showed a price increase of nearly £3k (after a similar increase a few months earlier) and spec changes to include the new 12.3" screens, wireless phone charger moved to dash, and truly horrible (IMHO) wheels instead of the rather nice ones shown previously.  Then the price disappeared from the website, and the spec seemed to revert to the previous level.  More recently of course, we learned that the Highlander is to be discontinued once existing orders are fulfilled and it disappeared completely from the UK website.

MyT just shows "Processing Order", although some weeks ago the following stages acquired location data, such as build will be in California, and shipping via Zeebrugge.

So I don't actually know if/when it arrives, what the spec will be or what the price will be.  When I told me salesman about the October increase he said they'd honour the quote, until I mentioned the spec change at which point he said the decision was out of his hands.

Just wondering if many others are awaiting a Highlander and what news, if any, they've had?

I’m looking at buying a highlander, but note only 20” wheels are available on UK versions whereas 18” is offered on most models in the US.

Big alloys are a bit of a pet hate of mine so would likely want to source some 18s to get a better ride, lower mpg, lower noise, cheaper tyres and better pot hole and kerbing immunity etc. Has anyone made that change? If so were you able to source OEM wheels at a reasonable cost or did you have to go aftermarket?

In all my cars i use a usb flash drive to play my music. Every other media source remains set after is start the car, but if u play music via USB and then shut off the car and start it again, the media will be turned off so i have to cycle though my source each time i start the car to get back to playing my usb.


Am i doing something wrong here or is it meant to work like that?

This is now the 2023 MY, and the only differences I can see are:

  • new better quality and larger infotainment screen (12.3" HD) and fully digital instrument cluster 👍
  • Phone charger now under heater controls  👍
  • nasty looking (IMHO) 20" all black wheels   🤮
