The fault code in C1831 (Accumulator Solenoid Upside). During the last service, I asked the dealer to check this and they told me the suspension system is mechanically sound and they suspect the fault is electrical/wiring. Ive located the accumulator solenoid under the passenger side door and i have managed to check the cable connector - seems ok. I want tocheck the other end of the cable that goes to the stabilzer ECU but i am not sure where that is locations. Can anyone on this forum help me with that.

How to value 1985 Toyota Landcruiser, not runninghttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221738-how-to-value-1985-toyota-landcruiser-not-running/ I need to determine the value of a 1985 Toyota Landcruiser for bankruptcy filing purposes. It has been sitting for several years. I know it needs a new power steering pump. Not sure what else. The interior is not in good shape, and driver's seat needs to be replaced. Can someone give me a ballpark value?

Automatic gearbox issueshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/192618-automatic-gearbox-issues/ Hi Guys recently bought a Toyota landcruiser Colorado 3.0 D4d automatic 2002 , since 5 hours after private purchase I  have had trouble with transmission, it will select all gears no problem but won’t move in any forward gears (D,L,2) a lot of the time it will just rev on the spot but no movement ,  it will always work in reverse no problem , when it does select D it’s drives 100% and will continue driving and selecting D for the entire day usually no problem  there’s no unusual sounds, crunching or anything like that just simply won’t move I’m hoping it’s a sensor issue somewhere but finding it hard to find anyone in the south of Ireland to have a look  . Any help would be greatly appreciated or suggestions.

Landcruiser LC4, HELP requiredhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/220350-landcruiser-lc4-help-required/ Hello everyone. I'm new to this site so bare with me please.

I bought a 2003 landcruiser lc4 1kd around 1month ago its been stood for 2yrs it had engine issues where it would cut of randomly when driving. So my mechanic drained the tank cleaned the filter on there replaced the fuel lines and changed the SCV valves and gave it a full service and lo behold the car started behaving with no issues. So I drove it 240miles on the motorway with no issues only issue it has was that it would take around 30secs of cranking multiple times before it would start but if the car was left overnight it would start immediately the next day but then if you turned it off and tried starting it again it would just keep cranking like before. So after the 240mile trip the next day its starting to go into limp mode with the fuel line malfunction code and the fuel temperature sensor bank A code and randomly cutting out as soon as it goes up a hill or try to set off from a junction engine light comes on immediately and cuts out but when you turn it off and then back on its fine except for 30secs later. My mechanic had a look at it and seems to believe it's the fuel pump on the engine and its getting air in the fuel system from somewhere. Is there any advice that you guys could give me please.

Tia

2006 landcruiser questionhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/219369-2006-landcruiser-question/ Hi all. I have a 2006 landcruiser  , UK model. I think it's known as Prado in other countries.  It has a 3 litre diesel engine. I have a few questions,  if people could advise that would be nice.  Is it true that in icy cold weather if you use the power heat button (makes the car idle at higher than normal revs) that's its bad for the injectors? I'm sure i read it somewhere.  Anyway yeah my car sounds horrible until up to temp. Like a crank rattle! Any advice plz? Also it keeps auto locking the doors when engine is off . I had to smash a window last year when I left the keys inside, closed the boot door, it had auto locked before door was closed lol ! Cheers guys I look forward to any posts.

2009 KDJ150 - Front Camera has condensation insidehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/195146-2009-kdj150-front-camera-has-condensation-inside/ Hello all,

Im fastidious and this issue will drive me mad.

The front grill camera of my 2009 LC5 has condensation, on the inner lens. Ive taken it off the front grill, taken it apart as far as getting the electronics off, but for the hell of me, I can't separate the outer plastic skin from the inner workings to get into the inner lens.

Pics below shows what I mean.

The camera works, but you cant make anything out on screen because of the condensation.

Has anyone ever been successful taking one apart, or am I going to be the first to Shell of £400+ for a new camera ?!

Im currently sat with a hair dryer blowing on it sat on a desk.

Prado tried to start itself in the middle of the nighthttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/209583-prado-tried-to-start-itself-in-the-middle-of-the-night/ Hi, my Prado 150 series Kakadu in the middle of the night tried to start itself. You could hear it trying to start over and over again. It nearly started and then went back to trying again. The Battery went flat and the alarm started going off and all the lights as well as dash lights were flickering etc.

I disconnected the Battery and charged it overnight.

In the morning when connecting the Battery alarms went off, dash lights going crazy and then suddenly the vehicle actually started on its own and even more weird I couldn't switch it off by pressing the on/off start button.

Smoke started coming from the engine and I presume it was fuses blowing and possibly cables burning, in a flat panic I pulled the leads off the battery and after a short time the vehicle cut out.

What a drama. The vehicle is only 6 years old and I suppose Toyota will nt help as its past the 5 year warranty.

Im hoping for some answers as I would be nervous driving the vehicle again if it gets repaired in the event it happens again.

Cheers Gary...ps you are welcome to email me on savutechobe@gmail.com

Currently running 19”…would you recommend 18” or 17”https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/218420-currently-running-19%E2%80%9D%E2%80%A6would-you-recommend-18%E2%80%9D-or-17%E2%80%9D/ I’m looking for advice form the experienced ones……(that’s you guys and gals by the way 😉🧐

I currently have 19” Invincible wheels, but limited as to the variety of All Terrains I can run. It came with Yokohama Geolander’s GO56’s on but I don’t trust Yokohama’s on slate byways 🥵🫣

(Photo below…and that was 1 of 2 tyres that the sidewalls gave way on that trip  (the sidewalls really do have the consistency of wet kitchen roll)

The price between 17” and 18” tyres is negligible and therefore I’m open to suggestions as to what you ladies and gents currently prefer, or advice either way?

Many thanks

Land Cruiser Hopperhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/217966-land-cruiser-hopper/ I always liked the Suzuki Jimmny but its too small and doesn't handle motorway driving well so i was interested to read they are bringing out an  XL version which has 5 doors, is quite a bit bigger and is good to drive on the motorway, my search then lead to "Toyota Suzuki jimmy rival" and if it does make it to production i think the Yaris Cross i planned to get next may have to take a back seat.

Transfer boxhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/217698-transfer-box/ Hi all,

I have a four year old automatic Land cruiser who started to give trouble over the weekend which felt as if the clutch was possibly slipping.

I left it in my local Toyota dealership, to just be informed that the transfer box has split! Has anyone else had this problem?

Kind regards

Tim

1997 Colorado - Warning lights through flood waterhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/217596-1997-colorado-warning-lights-through-flood-water/ Could anyone shed any light on the following?

When we had the really heavy rains in October I had to get to a village which was effectively cut off from both directions

I had no choice but to wade through what was probably best described as a small river

While in the water I don't think the level went any higher than the axle shafts but if it did it wasn't by much, but for all the while I was 'in the water', several dash warning lights came on

They stayed on from immediately when I entered the water and went out almost as quickly after coming out the other end

It was the low oil level, timing belt service, water in fuel filter, Battery and brake fluid lights ( almost everything that comes on with the igition key )

Could it have just been shorting out the alternator?

It didn't seem to show any other signs of anything wrong

It's a 1997 Land Cruiser Colorado, LWB, automatic turbo diesel ( 1KZ-TE )

Need help with impoort from SA, struggling with emissionshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/217586-need-help-with-impoort-from-sa-struggling-with-emissions/ Hey Guys,

I'm new to the forum. I know this forum is Landcruiser specific, but hopefully, the FJ Cruiser falls into the Landcruiser family

I'm in the process of importing my 2016 FJ from South Africa to the UK, and I need a little help. Specifically, can anyone recommend a Toyota / FJ specialist mechanic as we're having a few challenges with emissions to pass the IVA (I've posted a little summary below). The car is currently with the import agents in Derby, near Nottingham - so ideally, I'd like to find someone not far from there but would be happy with any solid recommendations at this stage.

  • The car arrived in the UK on 22 August.
  • The car failed emissions on the first test, and the agents thought it might be old/poor fuel from South Africa. They drained the tank, filled it with new fuel, and drove the car to clear fuel lines.
  • Failed emissions again a week later. The agent's mechanic did a full inspection and discovered that the car had previously been de-CAT'd (in South Africa before I bought it, of which I was unaware).
  • A new set of primary CATs were installed - still failed.
  • A new set of secondary CATs were installed - still failed.
  • Lambda sensors remapped to factory - still failed.

This brings us to today when emissions failed, but we are very close:

  • CO(%Vol) Result: 0.53 - FAIL (pass 0.00 - 0.20)
  • Lambda Result: 1.027 - PASS (pass 0.97 to 1.03)
  • HC(ppm) Result 24 - PASS (pass 0 to 200)

Has anyone else been through a similar experience / have any suggestions or what might be hindering the final pass on CO(Vol%)? Considering the work I've had done on the CATs and O2 sensors, it suggests something may be over-fuelling ... but Im no mechanic.

And my import agents are struggling to find a mechanic to assist. We contacted Toyota Derby today, and then Toyota UK - they won't touch the car until we can provide a registration number, which we cannot provide until we've cleared IVA and MOT and the car has final registration ... so the dealers seem to be a dead end at this stage.

I'd appreciate it if anyone could recommend a good Toyota / FJ specialist or any other advice that may be helpful.

Thanks!

Stephen
