I am desperately searching for the reinforcement of the glove compartment door of the Prius first gen.

Pictures and measurements of that part would be much appreciated, that could help me to rebuild it (or let it rebuild).

Can anyone help me?

I made a picture where you can see where this part has to be installed.

In the picture the part is not yet installed. The vertical red lines are where the plastic in between has to be cut off in order to deinstall the fan.

When the fan is reinstalled, the plasic marked with a red wave is no longer usefull, it hast to be bypassed by that reinforcement part.

Maybe I'm in the wrong forum, I will post that question also in the Prius forum if the mods are ok with that.

Prius Alpha KPH to MPH conversionhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221029-prius-alpha-kph-to-mph-conversion/ Hi all

Whist living in Ireland I purchased a 2013 Prius Alpha hybrid, model ZVW41W, imported from Japan.

I have returned to live in the UK, but can't get the car registered here or drive it on the road without having the digital odometer converted to read in MPH, also I need 'type approval' for the V55/5 registration form.

My local Toyota dealership won't help me because it's an import, I have tried the suggestions on YouTube, but none of them work with this version of the Prius and I can't find a garage that will take this on.

Can anyone please help?

How big USB-stick is supported in my Prius Gen 4?https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221620-how-big-usb-stick-is-supported-in-my-prius-gen-4/ I have a 2019 G4 with JBL Premium sound system. A 32GB FAT32 USB-stick is working but my 512GB NTFS USB-drive is not. Manual doesn't say anything about maximum size or what filesystem is supported so how should I know? I assume that it only supports FAT32 but to what size?

Plastic Inside Where You Fill up Oilhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221521-plastic-inside-where-you-fill-up-oil/ I just thought I’d check my oil level in my G4 Prius

The oil was fine but I took off the oil filler cap just to take a look as I’ve never taken it off before as I’ve not needed to.  What I did notice was a strip of plastic (white I think) that is just below the cap

I am just wondering what this piece of plastic is as my previous Prius (MK 2) I don’t think had that

Check if a Toyota Prius has CVT or eCVThttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221472-check-if-a-toyota-prius-has-cvt-or-ecvt/ Hi there,

I am going to buy a Toyota Prius 2019. The dealer is not able to tell me whether it is a standard CVT or eCVT. Is there any way I can check the vehicle specification online? Thanks in advance.

New Prius PHEV owner (G4), have some questionshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221375-new-prius-phev-owner-g4-have-some-questions/ Hi.

Finally i bought myself a Prius G4. A 2019 with 48k mile on the meter. Nice car! Was really happy with my older Lexus but their plugin-hybrids are still too expensive.

Did a 1000km trip last weekend (620 mile) and are very impressed by the gas mileage! 3,1l/100km (91,1 miles/gallon)! No extra charging on that trip but it was fully charged when I started. Had AC on all the way since it was steaming hot outside.
The car (Executive) is full of nice options that I still have not really learned how to use yet.

One problem, though. TPMS light is on and if I try to reset it still stays on. Pressure in tyres are fine. Will not get any "TPMS initiziated complete" message neither if a just press the Confirm button once nor if I press it three times (as someone tipped me). Could batteries in one ore more sensor be bad? Have just adjusted the pressure on all tyres, do I need Techstream to reprogram them?

My maps are outdated. I've found someone on eBay who could update them for €35, a fourt of what Toyota wants. Is there anyway to do it yourself using some "not official tool" or so?

Prius Wireless Carplay Adapterhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/212194-prius-wireless-carplay-adapter/ I have just installed a Carlinkit Wireless Carplay adapter. Just wondering whether anyone else has experience of that adapter or anything similar that converts there wired to wireless carplay on a Prius 2020 or later.

New Prius PHEV first impressionshttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/219748-new-prius-phev-first-impressions/ Basically. Not that impressed by specs.

Feels to me like an inferior spec’d car compared to the 2022 model it replaced.
plus Why oh why have we not been offered the HEV.

although it is simple to choose you model. LOL.

You ONLY have the choice of exterior Colour (£40k+ for pearlescent paint variant) and Fabric or Leather seats (17 or 19 inch wheels).

and No JBL sound system

Waiting for the next instalment... Perhaps sept 2024 to include a HEV and towing pack?

Distance gauge problemhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221359-distance-gauge-problem/ Hello there,

I have a 2010 Prius, which has a problem with the distance to empty gauge. I recently reset the A and B trip meters to zero and now I am wondering whether this has caused the distance meter to show an incorrect figure.

At the moment, there is over 1/4 of a tank of fuel and the distance to empty is showing only 8 miles. Will this correct itself as I make more and more journeys? Should I remove the Battery and perform a soft reset?

Should I remove the Battery and perform a soft reset?

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Many thanks,

Prius+ 2012 rear bike rackhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221210-prius-2012-rear-bike-rack/ I was googling for a read mounted bike rack for my Prius+ and got some sites with response that they do not offer this kind of mount as the car is not suitable or structural strong enough. Same if I would go with a tow-bar. I know, I cannot tow, but that would be good enough to fit a bike rack on the hook. Has anyone here fitted some bike rack on the rear? I'm looking to transport 3-4 bikes.

I’m Convinced Toyota has lost the plot with Built in SatNavhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/221107-i%E2%80%99m-convinced-toyota-has-lost-the-plot-with-built-in-satnav/ During 2022 i spent months working with Toyota Uk to get Multimedia / built-in Wifi unit working on the Prius with toyota uk website, so you could actually initialise a wifi virtual sim for your car.

During this time I began to lose confidence with the built in systems , which became increasingly isolated over time if you wished to use alternatives like AA or Carplay as your main “internet” connection. More frustration this year as TM over radio was disabled (MY19 units does not use the new system)

So that leads me to todays gripe…

I am by nature a completionist, so even though i use Carplay i like to keep my Toyota Internal maps up to date ….

So imagine my surprise when i went to run OTA map updates for UK / France when i get the message “OTA update subscription expired please login to MyT to update settings and register for updates” yes it did say MyT

sorry that is cow poop, my account HAS registered, in fact i am mid PCP (2 out of 4) so no worries there then.

The implementation on the MY20 Prius with an MY19 head unit has always been flaky and this is just another of many many examples. don't even get me started on MyT(oyota) being stuck in “trial” mode for 2 years so i cant even see my 12v status (yes seriously)

Dear Mr/Ms Toyota please don't concentrate on this years model because its “shiny” and “new” for the 3 ppl that bought it. SORT OUT your loyal customer issues

I guess i made the right decision to abandon internal mulimedia/sat nav and buy a wired/wireless converter (carlinkit v5) and use TomTomGo on my iPhone with monthly updates to maps and have music streamed with zero delay …

perhaps my nextmodel will be a base rather than a top of the range… or even not toyota (shock horror after 18 years ownership) at the end of the day if your supplier cant be bothered to support customers you will move elsewhere or buy a significantly detuned model

oh and don't forget in 2025 “safety” featured become mandatory… so owning a 2020 / 2019 / 2016 Prius Gen4 would be desire-able  so even more important to keep up to date

Failed hybrid battery test, gear shift error codehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/220977-failed-hybrid-battery-test-gear-shift-error-code/ Hi,

Failed hybrid Battery test and gear shift error code on year 5 service. Dealer not given report or not informed me on collection. On enquiry, one guy reported, you won’t get report as Battery failed check. My 5 year warranty finishing in few weeks. I am not sure I will get same cover after 5 year. I got report at end & they told me to repeat check after 500 miles. Service manager told I am leaving car on neutral gear which cause error code P085D. Even though I wasn’t.
Did all services at vantage

Prius Alpha Won At Auctionhttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/220733-prius-alpha-won-at-auction/ Hi all,

After years away, I'm pleased to be returning to the Toyota Hybrid scene. We secured a 2011 Prius Alpha S-Touring in red at auction in Japan on Friday. 108,000km on the clock and grade 4B, with Bilstein suspension added. Just the 3 months or so to wait for it to arrive now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Scangaugehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/220915-scangauge/ I used a Scangauge very effectively with my Gen 3 Prius. Does anybody know if the OBD2 codes for the Gen 4 are the same?

Also where is the ODB2 port?

I have a list (somewhere) of the codes for tweaking things on the Gen 3 - eg turn off reversing beeps. Is there a similar list for the Gen 4 - eg for linking window control to lock/unlock?

Simple query to first generation Prius owners!https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/220883-simple-query-to-first-generation-prius-owners/ Hi,

I've a 2009 Prius and wanted a small confirmation from anyone with a Prius from that era.

Do all the lights on the dashboard light up when you start the car and then settle down to normal dashboard lights ? By that I mean if the warning lights including the dreaded Red Triangle also come on at start up ?  Just wanted to confirm it's normal! Having some problems my 12 volt Battery and wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Many thanks.

Prius Excel 2016:LV refuse to insurehttps://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/215296-prius-excel-2016lv-refuse-to-insure/ Whilst shopping around for renewal insurance for my Prius Excel 2016, I went to the LV site, which, by the way, has a specific advert aimed at Toyota owners.  After filling all the necessary details, I received the message that they do not insure this model! (They could have said that as soon as I entered my car details on the first page).
Not easy to contact LV but LV Customer Care on Twitter confirmed that this is correct but could offer no explanation.
I wonder whether anyone else has come across this and whether anyone could explain why this may be.

coolant in exhaust prius 2016https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/217833-coolant-in-exhaust-prius-2016/ Car is currently in the dealership and they have diagnosed coolant leaking in to the exhaust (which is a relief as we thought the cylinder head gasket had blown).  We have given the goahead for repairs at £1600, but I have just spotted a california service bulletin about the known problem, a modified part and free replacement up to 8 years.  Does anything similar apply in the UK?

Thanks
